Dear Parents and Carers,

Due to the very warm weather forecast over the next few days, children may come to school in suitable warm-weather clothing for the rest of this week, or while the heatwave continues.

Children do not need to wear full school uniform during this period. They may wear appropriate shorts and t-shirts, and these do not have to be red or white. However, please ensure that clothing remains suitable for school. Children should not wear football tops, and clothing should not display any wording, images or logos that would not be appropriate for school.

Children should also wear suitable footwear so that they can move safely around school and take part in normal school activities. Trainers are fine. Please avoid footwear such as flip-flops, sliders or anything that may cause children to trip or be unsafe during the school day.

Please can all children have sun cream applied before they come to school. Ideally, children should also bring sun cream into school, clearly labelled with their name, so that this can be reapplied during the day if needed. Children will need to be able to apply their own sun cream where possible.

Children should also bring a water bottle to school each day. This should contain water or cordial only. Please do not send fizzy drinks. Bottles can be refilled throughout the day using the water fountains in school.

We will also continue to take sensible precautions in school, including encouraging children to drink regularly, limiting time in direct sun where needed and using shaded areas where possible.

Just a reminder that our clothes bank collection will be taking place tomorrow.

If you have any unwanted clothes, shoes or other recyclable textiles that you would like to donate, please send them into school by tomorrow morning. Donations can either be handed into the school office or brought into your child's classroom.

Collection bags were sent home previously; however, if you no longer have the bag, any securely tied plastic bag can be used.

Every donation helps to raise valuable funds for the school, which are used to support the children and enhance their experiences in school. We would therefore be very grateful for any contributions that families are able to make.
