The Careers Service is for all students and recent graduates of the University of Manchester and helps them make the move from University to employment.

The University of Manchester Careers Service aims to improve the employability of its students and also recent graduates. This is done by enhancing their skills, organising tailored events and giving expert advice. Activate your graduate CareerConnect account to access useful tools including job vacancies, pathways and a wide range of events 🌞

Book a 1-1 appointment with one of our expert Careers Advisers, who can help you with things like writing job applications and reviewing your career options 👥

LinkedIn can be a great tool when looking for jobs. Make a profile and connect with people and employers you want to network with. You can also message people to ask them about their experiences!

Be sure to join the UoM Recent Graduates Careers Network as well, so you can stay in touch with other grads and learn about relevant opportunities ⭐️

Adopt a job search strategy that works for you. This could look like making a spreadsheet to keep track of applications, writing CV and cover letter templates to adapt for each role, and tailoring your LinkedIn algorithm so it recommends the jobs you really want 🕺

Manchester Graduate Talent (MGT) roles are specially suited to recent UoM graduates. There are vacancies across the University and beyond - check out which ones are open now on CareerConnect 🌸

Even if you don’t have much formal work experience, things like online courses/qualifications, volunteering, micro-internships, and virtual work experience are all great ways to develop your skills and expand your CV! Check out the Careers Service website for more details 🖥️
