โฝ๐ฌ๐ง It's Coming Home... to Our Nursery! ๐ฌ๐งโฝ
What an exciting day we've had getting ready for the England match! The children threw themselves into the football spirit by creating their very own England flags, designing special medals, and having lots of fun with face paints. โค๏ธ๐ค๐
The excitement didn't stop there! We listened to some famous World Cup and football songs, sang along at the top of our voices, and danced our hearts out. The children loved moving their bodies, waving their flags, and showing off their best victory dances! ๐ถ๐บ๐
There were smiles, laughter, creativity, and plenty of team spirit throughout the day. It was wonderful to see everyone joining in, celebrating together, and learning about supporting their team in such a fun way.
Come on England! โฝ๐๐

๐ฅ Why is it important for children to try new foods? ๐ฅ๐
At our setting, we encourage children to explore and experience a variety of foods as part of their learning and development journey.
Trying new foods helps children to:
โจ Develop healthy eating habits
โจ Build confidence and independence
โจ Expand their vocabulary by describing tastes, textures, colours, and smells
โจ Learn about different cultures and traditions
โจ Support their physical growth and wellbeing
Food exploration is also closely linked to sensory development. Children use their senses to investigate foods through touching, smelling, looking, tasting, and even listening to the sounds foods make when they are prepared or eaten. These sensory experiences help children make sense of the world around them and support brain development.
Within the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), food experiences contribute to several areas of learning, including:
๐ฑ Personal, Social and Emotional Development โ developing confidence to try new things.
๐ฃ๏ธ Communication and Language โ discussing tastes, textures, and preferences.
๐ช Physical Development โ promoting healthy lifestyles and fine motor skills through food preparation.
๐ Understanding the World โ learning where foods come from and exploring different cultures.
By encouraging children to explore new foods in a positive, pressure-free environment, we help nurture curious, confident learners who are willing to embrace new experiences.

Weโve just received our gallery back from the photographer, and as beautiful as every image is, itโs the candid moments that always steal our hearts.
Thereโs something so special about photographs that arenโt staged. The genuine laughter, the little glances, the spontaneous moments you didnโt even realise were being captured. They tell the real story.
Looking through these photos, you can see just how much fun everyone was having, and thatโs what makes them so meaningful. Years from now, it wonโt be the perfectly posed shots that bring back the strongest memoriesโitโll be these authentic moments filled with joy, connection, and happiness.
So grateful to have these memories captured forever. โค๏ธ

โจ What a truly wonderful way to begin our 30th Birthday Celebrations at Wells House! โจ
Yesterday was nothing short of magical as we kicked off this very special milestone with a day full of sunshine, laughter, friendship, and memories to treasure.
We started the morning with a fantastic birthday brunch, enjoying delicious crumpets, pancakes, croissants, and fresh juice. While the children were busy enjoying their morning activities, our amazing team โ Kelly, Meg, Carissa, Phill, Tina, and Ian โ were hard at work transforming our outdoor space into a garden party setting to remember.
Thankfully, the sunshine stayed on our side, creating the perfect backdrop for a truly special day. We enjoyed plenty of delicious food, and the arrival of the ice cream van ensured everyone made the most of the glorious weather!
One of the highlights of the afternoon was our spectacular Bake Off competition, expertly judged by our wonderful gardeners. The creativity and effort that went into every entry was incredible. We were also delighted to welcome Suzanne from the Bolton SEND Team, who joined us for the celebrations.
Adding to the excitement, the Bolton Evening News came along to capture the occasion, so keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming article!
To round off the day, we danced our hearts out with the fantastic Louby Lou, who, as always, brought endless energy, fun, and smiles to children, parents, and staff alike.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special. Your support, dedication, and enthusiasm mean the world to us and play such an important part in everything we do.
This is only the beginningโthe celebrations will continue, and we can't wait to share more special moments with you all as we mark 30 amazing years of Wells House.
๐ Thank you from everyone at Wells House. ๐

It may have been raining outside, but that certainly didn't dampen our fun today! ๐ง๏ธ๐
We had a meeting together and decided that we wanted to build a den. Everyone shared their ideas, we came up with a plan as a team, and then got to work bringing it to life.
We worked together brilliantly, showing great teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity. We are very proud of our finished den and think we did a fantastic job! ๐๏ธ๐

This morning, we had a wonderful time exploring scented yellow play dough! The children used our play mats to create a variety of mini beasts and enthusiastically sang songs to accompany their creations, including There's a Worm at the Bottom of the Garden and I Caught Myself a Little Bumblebee.
We also had fun exploring different sounds and movements, pretending to be bees, slugs, and chickens. The children showed fantastic imagination and creativity throughout the activities.
It was lovely to see everyone sharing the shapes, rollers, and cutters so kindly while working together. Well done, everyone! ๐๐๐๐

๐๐ฆ Sensory Play Adventure! ๐ ๐
Today we explored a wonderful ocean-themed sensory activity using blue shaving foam to represent the sea. The children loved searching for hidden sharks, fish, and foam shapes buried beneath the "water," while also investigating colourful tissue paper and experiencing different textures through touch.
Sensory play provides rich opportunities for children to develop their communication and language skills as they describe what they can see, feel, and discover. It also supports physical development through fine motor movements such as searching, grasping, squeezing, and manipulating materials.
This activity encouraged curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving as children searched for hidden objects and discussed their findings with friends. The variety of textures helped children build their understanding of the world through first-hand sensory experiences while fostering creativity and imagination through ocean-themed play.
