A huge Damar congratulations this week to Justyana Burleigh for her success at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and for the clear impact she's had during her business administration apprenticeship! π
Between these reflections from Justyana and supervisor Yvonne Harrison, it's clear that the apprenticeship journey was a positive one for everyone involved, and that is always something we're keen to celebrate and shout about.
Because an apprenticeship isn't a one-sided experience or something that only benefits the individual - it's a collaborative effort that has benefits for the whole organisation.

GCSEs finished? A Levels complete? Wondering what comes next? π
Right now, thousands of young people across the UK are about to exist in in the space post-exams and pre-results, thinking about university, apprenticeships, employment, gap years and all the other possibilities ahead of them. And it's completely normal to feel overwhelmed.
Whether exploring further education, considering an apprenticeship or looking for a first step into the world of work, there are more options available than ever before.
At Damar Training, we can help make those next steps feel a little less daunting. We have a number of routes available, including our new level 2 administration assistant apprenticeship, for those entering the workplace for the first time.
And for employers, now is the time to start thinking ahead too.
This period is a hugely important moment in the early careers journey. Young people are actively exploring their options, considering different pathways and looking for opportunities to take that first step.
If you've got an apprenticeship, trainee role or early careers opportunity in the pipeline, let's talk.
We can help you plan your recruitment, connect with motivated candidates and support the hiring process from start to finish.
So, on International Panic Day, our message is simple:
Explore your options. Ask for support.
Whether you're a young person or an employer, the next steps can be exciting ones β¨

Seeing what you can achieve when you put your mind to it.
Exactly what apprenticeships are all about.
Thanks to Rae Johnson and Tim Owen from Greater Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for sharing their experiences of their recent Damar apprenticeship from both apprentice and supervisor points of view, which resulted in a fantastic distinction result in Rae's business administration end-point assessment.

This week's Damar congratulations go to Abigail Bethell at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust! π
Not only are we saying congratulations for achieving a distinction in her business administrator end-point assessment but also for her ongoing commitment to the power of apprenticeships and for embracing the opportunity of the unknown.
Further to the below, she added:
"I feel more equipped when it comes to project management as before I would have been going into a project without any planning or decision-making tools. Additionally, looking down the professionalism and managing performance lens, it has helped me know my worth in the workplace and feel appreciated by my colleagues when I have done tasks that involve gathering feedback."
Well done, Abigail! π

Employees who hide who they are at work are stressed, exhausted, and less productive.
Psychological safety - the belief you wonβt be punished or humiliated for speaking up - is the foundation of an inclusive, mentally healthy workplace. Leaders can model vulnerability, normalise accommodations, and provide multiple channels for disclosure.
Celebrating neurodiversity publicly signals that itβs safe to bring your whole self to work.
We champion this at Damar with the fantastic work of SEND Coordinator, Nadya Murray, who works with our apprentices and their employers to ensure full and proper support is provided for any and all requirements an apprentice may have.
Rachel Morgan-Trimmer sums it up: βYou can see it in productivity and retention, but also in the liveliness of the organisation - when people feel they belong, energy improves, and creativity thrives.β
