We are deeply saddened to learn of the closure of Pitsford School. Our thoughts are with the students, families and staff at what we know must be a difficult and sensitive time. At Thornton, we remain committed to supporting families through this challenging time in any way we can and would welcome families who are looking to explore their options to visit us on Sunday 28th June for our Summer Fete, where tours of our school can be requested upon entry. Mr Ireland took his Year 9 Maths group outside this morning for a lesson in TRIGONOM-A-TREE🌳, to show how trigonometry can be used in a practical setting. The girls set about estimating the height of buildings and our tallest trees, using formula equations and exact measurements, with the tallest tree in our grounds coming in at a whopping 32 metres! 🌳📐
