Don't forget...England v Ghana 9pm tonight!

23/06/2026

Today, we noticed several children came to the Academy without a water bottle.

Please ensure your child comes in tomorrow with:
A named water bottle
A hat to protect their heads
Sun cream

With the warm weather continuing, it is important that students are hydrated and protected from the sun throughout the day. Thank you.

DofE Update:

Our Year 10 and 12 students have all demonstrated our 5Cs in incredible fashion over the last two days.

Students completed the required amount of DofE journeying time today in the coolest hours starting very early, they have shown fantastic support for each other and how to work well when there are changes to plans.

Students have enjoyed a relaxed afternoon playing cricket, rounders, football and of course a water fight back at camp.

Parents of students participating on this weeks DofE expeditions will have an update email in your inbox to view for tomorrow's plan. Please take some time to read the information and do get in touch via email if you have any questions.

We're so proud of our staff and the hard work they put in everyday to support our students. So we thought we'd introduce a few to you. Meet Mrs Stevenson:

How long have you been at The Hazeley Academy?
10.5 Years.

What do you love about working here?
What I love most about working here is being part of a school community where reading, curiosity and learning are genuinely valued. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is talking with students about books – whether it’s helping them find their next read, hearing their opinions on a story they’ve just finished, or watching their confidence grow as they discover authors and genres they didn’t think they’d enjoy. Being able to make a positive difference to students’ reading journeys is what makes working here so special to me.

What's a fun fact/hidden talent about you?
I used to work for Lego and have been to the factory in Billund.

What you're involved in outside of school?
I love being outside, walking, riding my bike or just pottering in my garden.

Who inspires you?
I’m inspired by the students I work with every day. Seeing their confidence grow as they find books they enjoy, and hearing them talk passionately about characters, stories or ideas, is incredibly motivating.

What's your favourite quote?
"Promise me that you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think Christopher Robin" - Bob Carter

What a fantastic afternoon at our annual Year 7 Colour Run today (and the weather was lush)!

Before the event got underway, our Academy field was fully prepared and ready to host one of the most colourful and exciting events of the year.

While we're still waiting for some of the action shots from the Colour Run, here's a look at the field all set up before the excitement began. More colourful photos from the event will be shared soon!

After 170 exams, over 7,000 exam papers, 130 exam rooms set up and invigilated, and another successful JCQ inspection, the final exam paper has been collected and the Summer 2026 exam season has officially come to an end!

A huge thank you to our Exams Department, without you we could not do it. And also to all staff who supported the exams process over the past few months. From preparing access arrangement rooms and maintaining quiet corridors, to supporting students before exams and setting up venues each day, every contribution helped ensure a smooth and successful exam series.

Special thanks go to our dedicated team of invigilators, whose behind-the-scenes work creates a calm, supportive and compliant environment for students. We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 and Year 13 students, who conducted themselves with maturity, resilience and professionalism throughout the exam season.

We would also like to recognise Mrs Hewit, our Access Arrangements Coordinator, whose outstanding support for SEND students was specifically praised during our recent JCQ inspection.

Thank you to everyone who played a part!

We wish all our students a well-deserved summer break and look forward to celebrating their achievements on Results Day!
