Sports betting has become increasingly visible online, appearing across apps, websites, social media, sports coverage and gaming spaces.
Even when young people are not legally old enough to gamble, they may still encounter betting messages through adverts, influencers, tipsters, friends or adult accounts.
Our latest guide highlights key risks, including:
• Easy online access
• Gambling becoming normalised around sport
• Peer and influencer pressure
• Free bet offers
• Impulsive spending and chasing losses
It also offers practical advice for parents, carers and educators on starting calm conversations, setting safer digital boundaries, spotting warning signs and finding support.

👀🌳Year 9 English pupils at Great Park Academy have been taking inspiration from the school's surrounding area for writing poetry about nature and freedom. They considered the trees, flowers, birds and natural elements within the school grounds as part of their planning process, then headed back to the classroom to write up their poems.
Watch this space for the next generation of poets! 📚✨

Supporting our pupils to feel safe and confident 💬
Earlier this term, Great Park Academy KS2 pupils took part in the NSPCC’s 'Speak Out. Stay Safe' programme, helping them learn how to recognise worries, identify trusted adults, and understand the importance of speaking out.
Following the assembly, pupils engaged in a range of activities designed to deepen their understanding of safeguarding, build awareness of trusted relationships, and reinforce the importance of speaking out if they feel worried or unsafe.
This valuable experience helped to empower children with the knowledge and confidence to seek support when needed.
