DJI's latest June firmware update is now live, bringing DJI O4 Ground Station support alongside new altitude awareness tools to enhance operational safety and efficiency.

Highlights include:

DJI Dock 3 / Matrice 4D Series

• AGL altitude display added to DJI Pilot 2 camera view.
• AGL altitude alerts added to DJI FlightHub 2 Cockpit.

DJI has expanded C6 compliance for the Matrice 4D Series standalone mode.

DJI Matrice 4D and Matrice 4TD are now C6-compliant under EU Delegated Regulation in standalone mode when used with the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise controller — not just with DJI Dock 3.

Why does this matter?

Previously, operators looking to leverage the aircraft's C6 classification were tied to a dock-based deployment model. This update gives operators more flexibility, supporting both fixed-site dock deployments and field-based manual operations.

For European operators, this strengthens the platform’s suitability for advanced operations, including STS-02 and BVLOS missions where applicable.

For UK operators, it does not change existing CAA permissions, but it is a positive step for organisations planning complex, future-ready drone programmes across the UK and Europe.

Great to be back on site with Ken Durling, Asset Engineer (Track Renewals) for Network Rail's Anglia Route, supporting the installation of DJI Dock 3 at Romford ahead of the upcoming BVLOS rollout.

Following SORA SAIL II authorisation from CAA, the team carried out proof testing of ADS-B and EC integration in preparation for commencing AAE operational BVLOS flights. All systems performed as expected, providing confidence in the platform's readiness for future operations.

A special thanks to our BD Manager Ruairi Peel Hardman and Avanced Dock Engineer Kevin Morton for their support throughout the deployment.

This marks another step towards enabling safe, scalable and efficient beyond visual line of sight drone operations across critical infrastructure environments.

Automated drones can cut industrial inspection times from hours to minutes - a DJI Dock trial between ConocoPhillips and heliguy™ has shown.

The 90-day field trial at Teesside Oil Terminal demonstrated how automated drone-in-a-box operations can deliver safer, faster, and more scalable inspections.

Sixteen-minute drone missions - following a pre-defined route - captured thermal and optical data to verify the condition of tank roofs, above-ground pipework, and critical equipment. Performing the same inspection by vehicle and on foot would take approximately eight hours.

ConocoPhillips said the trial, supported by heliguy™, was a 'significant first step' towards autonomous drone operations at Teesside.

Delivering hands-on drone maintenance training to National Grid, Derbyshire County Council, and Durham Constabulary.

The instructor-led course combined classroom learning with hands-on tasks, covering legal maintenance requirements, maintenance logging for auditing and compliance, fault diagnosis, and practical repair techniques.

Participants gained the skills needed to keep their DJI Enterprise aircraft safe, compliant, and mission-ready.
