The second group for the Beadnell residential had an amazing time away this year! π
The weather wasnβt always on our side, but we didnβt let that spoil the fun. We managed some time on the beach before the hailstones arrived, followed by a well-earned fish and chip tea ππ
On Thursday, we explored Bamburgh Castle and visited the amusements β lots of smiles and laughter all round! Back at the house, we were treated to an impressive thunderstorm rolling overhead, which we loved watching together, followed by some beautiful rainbows π
There was plenty of fun back at the house too, with lots of games and time spent together. On our final day, we were lucky enough to enjoy a sunny play session in the walled garden βοΈ
Our boys (and the staff!) did us incredibly proud. What a privilege it was to spend this time together.
Beadnell 2026 β you were awesome! π

π¦‘This week, we enjoyed a fantastic Community Assembly linked to our "Under the Sea" topic. The children had the opportunity to explore a variety of exciting sensory experiences inspired by life beneath the waves. From investigating different textures and materials to engaging in creative and interactive activities, the children showed great enthusiasm and curiosity throughout.
It was wonderful to see them confidently exploring the different areas, using their imaginations, and sharing their discoveries with friends. The assembly provided a rich sensory experience that supported learning through play while bringing our topic to life in a fun and engaging way. Well done to all the children for their excellent participation and positive attitudes! π¦‘

πAs some of you are aware Grove house is a facility that some of our students and ex-students access for overnight stays and respite. They are fundraising to get their own defib on site for any medical emergencies. Link attached for their Gofundme page if anyone would like to donate π

A huge thank you to everyone who joined Frog class for their community assembly. All of the children loved working on activities with their parents and carers and learning all about minibeasts. π¦π

Thank you to our wonderful FOGS group and to everyone who has supported the group this year. They have kindly made a donation into school to buy lots of materials to make UV resources for use in our Explorer and Adventurer classes. Each class will be getting a selection of materials that glow brightly in the dark. Weβve had new UV lights installed in one of our rooms and soon lots of children will be able to access stories, maths and number and singing activities in the UV room where everything glows in the dark and is a magical experience. UV work is a fabulous resource to use with children especially if they struggle to maintain focus, eye contact and concentration.
Weβre excited to start making lots of new and exciting resources β¦ thank you FOGS π

π¦π¦What an exciting time we have had at Gibside school these past two weeks! We have had a duckling experience- watching the eggs hatch and taking care of them. Kangaroo class has been the main duck helpers and every other class has been to visit and stroke the ducks. They have been very loved by everyone and it has been a great experience for pupils and staff!π¦π¦
