Important news - Sports Days - Postponed

Dear Parents and Carers,

After careful consideration, we have decided to postpone this week’s Sports Day events due to the Met Office’s Amber Heat warning. We do not feel it is safe for pupils and staff to be exposed to the high temperatures expected.

Please note:
- This is a postponement, not a cancellation. We will aim to reschedule the events later in the term and will notify you of the new dates by email and via the school app by Friday 26th June.
- the affected day(s), pupils should attend school as normal. Children should come in their usual school uniform/PE kit as previously shared.
- Spectators should not come to school until a new date is announced.
- While pupils remain on site, we will follow our heat-health procedures, including increased water breaks, shaded areas and limiting outdoor exertion.

I apologise for any disruption this causes and thank you for your understanding—your child’s welfare is our priority. If you have an urgent question, please contact the school office.

May I please remind you that it is not permitted to park on yellow zigzag lines, in a bus bay or in an entrance to a property. Please see the advice from the Police and an extract from the Highway Code:

DO NOT stop or park:

near a school entrance
anywhere you would prevent access for Emergency Services
at or near a bus or tram stop or taxi rank
opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space
in front of an entrance to a property
on a bend

It is vitality important that we try to keep our St. Andrew's family safe and would appreciate your co-operation with this. With this in mind, we are gathering evidence to send to the Local Authority to try and put parking restriction signs in place, therefore, you may see Mrs Reed outside taking photos of any vehicles parked illegally.
