Our Preschool children had a fantastic time playing their own World Cup match with Miss Ellie Rose and Miss Kamila today! ⚽️🌟

They were working together as a team, learning how to take turns, communicate with one another and support their teammates throughout the game. They also explored simple football rules, helping them to understand fairness, listening skills and the importance of following instructions.

Good Luck in Tonight’s Match England and Croatia ‼️‼️‼️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇭🇷

Our toddlers have been getting into the World Cup spirit with Miss Kelly and Miss Jenny by creating their own football patterns! ⚽️ Through exploring colours, shapes and repeating sequences, the children developed their early maths skills while having lots of fun designing football-themed patterns.

Well done, little football stars! 🌟⚽️

🏅 Sports with Miss Ellie-Rose! 🏅

Sports Day has been a big topic of conversation recently, with many of our preschoolers excitedly sharing stories about their older brothers and sisters taking part in sports days at school. To build on this current interest, Miss Ellie-Rose organised a special preschool Sports morning of our own! 💪🏻

The children took part in a fun water balloon and spoon race, carefully balancing their balloons as they moved towards the finish line. There were lots of giggles, determination, and cheers as the children encouraged one another and celebrated their achievements😎

🌟 This activity supported:

💪 Gross motor skills, balance, and coordination
👀 Hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
🎯 Concentration, focus, and perseverance
😊 Confidence in trying new challenges
🤝 Turn-taking, teamwork, and encouraging peers
🗣️ Communication and sharing experiences from home
❤️ Understanding and managing emotions, including excitement and disappointment

🔤🐭 Gruffalo Phonics 🦊🦉

Yesterday, our preschool children took part in a fun and engaging Gruffalo Phonics session with Miss Ellie-Rose. Using familiar objects and characters from her special phonics bag, the children carefully listened to the initial sound they could hear at the beginning of each word. They then identified the corresponding letter and practised forming it on their whiteboards💪🏻

By linking sounds to meaningful and familiar characters from a well loved story, the children were motivated to participate and develop their early literacy skills through play based learning😆

This activity supports children to:

✨Develop phonological awareness by identifying initial sounds in words.
✨Build early reading skills by making connections between sounds and letters.
✨Strengthen letter recognition and recall.
✨Practise correct letter formation and develop mark-making skills.
✨Enhance fine motor control through writing on whiteboards.
✨Develop listening and attention skills by focusing on spoken sounds.
✨Increase confidence when sharing answers and participating in group discussions.
✨Extend vocabulary through discussion of familiar story characters and objects.
✨Build the foundations for future reading and writing success.

The children showed fantastic listening skills and enthusiasm throughout the session. Well done, Preschool! 🌟📚
