Hot weather can feel relentless in pregnancy — and hydration becomes far more important than simply “drinking enough water.”
Your body is:
✨ increasing blood volume
✨ supporting the placenta
✨ regulating temperature for both you and baby
✨ working harder cardiovascularly
✨ producing amniotic fluid
Even mild dehydration can leave you feeling:
dizzy
exhausted
headachy
swollen
crampy
emotionally depleted
And because pregnancy already places extra demand on the nervous system, heat can quickly tip the body into overwhelm and fatigue.
Small, steady habits help:
☀️ sip regularly rather than chugging
☀️ include electrolytes if needed
☀️ rest in shade/cool spaces
☀️ avoid battling through exhaustion
☀️ listen when your body asks you to slow down

Of putting your needs at the bottom of the list?

Why of why do we do it????
Acting now may make the next ten years very different.
Sleep changes.
Energy changes.
Stress feels harder to manage.
Often these changes are explained away.
A busy life.
Work.
Children.
Getting older.
Having too much on.
And sometimes that's true.
But sometimes there's something else happening.
Pushing through can just exacerbate symptoms... whereas understanding and support can make a whole lot of difference.
Those random symptoms? Probably not so random.
Looking back, I wish someone had helped me connect the dots sooner rather than dismiss them.
Not because it would have stopped the changes.
But because it would have changed how I experienced them.

One of the things I love most about Postnatal Core & Restore is that it’s not about finding childcare, rushing out of the house or leaving your baby behind.
It’s something for you… but your baby comes too.
While you’re rebuilding strength, reconnecting with your body and taking an hour for yourself, your little one is right there beside you. Watching. Smiling. Playing. Learning.
There’s something quite special about seeing your baby look up at you with complete fascination while you do something that supports your own wellbeing.
Because postnatal recovery isn’t selfish.
Looking after yourself is part of looking after your baby.
And sometimes the best seat in the house is right there on the mat. 💚

Home Alone. And Loving It.
Today I have the house completely to myself.
No classes.
No appointments.
No meetings.
No one asking me where something is.
Just me.
I’ve never been someone who needs constant noise or company. Don’t get me wrong—I love my family, my friends, my clients and the wonderful communities that have grown around Huddle & Bliss.
But I also genuinely enjoy my own company.
A quiet coffee.
A good book.
A walk.
A podcast.
Pottering around the house at my own pace.
No agenda. No expectations. No guilt.
For many of us, particularly as women, being alone is often confused with being lonely.
They’re not the same thing.
There’s something incredibly restorative about having the space to hear your own thoughts, follow your own rhythm and simply be.
So today I’m embracing a rare thing…
A whole Saturday to myself.
And honestly?
I’m quite looking forward to every minute of it.

Thinking about infant massage while you’re still pregnant?
You absolutely can book ahead — and often, it is the best way to secure a space.
I completely understand that some parents feel superstitious about booking baby things before baby arrives. But the reality is, if you wait until after birth, you may find the next available space is some considerable time away.
August is now full and September is already half full.
Booking ahead gives you something calm and supportive already in place for those early weeks — and if birth takes an unexpected turn, such as an unplanned caesarean, medical issues or needing a little more recovery time, I will always work with you.
