On Wednesday we held our wonderful parents evening social event. We invited our parents to book a slot with their child’s key person to talk all things nursery and celebrate all of their wonderful achievements!
Our wonderful chef Amy came along and made some of her delicious nutritious treats so parents and carers could taste some of what our children enjoy! Amy spent time talking with parents, supporting them with foods they could make at home for their children and provided menus and recipe cards too!
Parents evening is such a special time for us at little learners as it becomes a time where we gather together and have lots of conversations connecting as a little learners family ❤️

Teaching young children about different skin tones helps them build empathy, celebrate diversity and develop a healthy positive self image 👧🏻👧🏽🧑🏽🧒🏼
In connections recently, we have been exploring our selves through a range of media, such as photographs, crayons, paint and mirrors. The children have been drawing their self portraits, building themselves and their peers through puzzles and having positive conversations about the colour of their skin.
“My daddy is darker”
“My skin is light brown”
“My skin is white and so is [friends name] we are both white”
“[friends name] is a little browner”
This learning experience has led into children drawing their families, in particular their parents. This has seen a good understanding of height as the children drew each family member a different height, for example their dad was the tallest, their were a middle height and their younger siblings were drawn significantly smaller.
When building the puzzles of their faces, our friends were able to identify the features of their friends and were able to help each other find their nose and eyes👂🏻👃🏽👀

We are incredibly proud to share that one of our talented team members, Angel, has written a children's book, The Princess Noelle Chronicles! 💜📚
"Join Princess Noelle on a magical adventure through the enchanting world of Ever Winter, where dragons, dinosaurs, giants, pirates, loyal friends, and unforgettable discoveries await around every corner."
What makes the story even more special, is how Little Learners is featured in it's own chapter within the book. Princess Noelle and Gus Visit Little Learners, and bring a touch of magical Ever Winter sparkle to the wonderful world our children enjoy every day. Filled with imagination, friendship, learning, and adventure, it's a very special tribute to our nursery community.
How amazing is it to think that our little learners may one day read this story and recognise a place that has played such an important part in their early years? ✨
We're also thrilled to celebrate the book's fantastic success already, having reached the Top 100 Amazon Hot New Releases for Children's Chapter Books! 🎉
If you'd like to follow Princess Noelle, Gus, and their friends on an unforgettable adventure featuring dragons, dinosaurs, giants, pirates, and magical lands, The Princess Noelle Chronicles is available to pre-order now for £12.99.

It’s that time of year again in the Outdoor classroom where we’ve got the school uniforms out for everyone to try on. Everyone has been excited to see how they would look when it comes time to wear their own school uniform. This has also led to lots of stories from children who have already been to see their new schools and have met their teachers. We have also been matching different bits of uniform together so that we’re wearing all the same school as much as possible. With everyone so excited about their new schools wee will be extending this over the next couple of weeks with some pictures of the actual schools so that they can get used to the building they will actually be going to.

"If children don't grow up knowing about nature and appreciating it, they won't understand it, and if they don't understand it, they won't protect it, and if they don't protect it, who will?"- Sir David Attenborough 🌿
Happy 100th birthday, Sir David Attenborough! 🌍🎉
Expressions celebrated Sir David Attenborough turning 100 with a birthday party this week.. using some beautiful books to extend learning! The children engaged in lots of learning opportunities surrounding the natural world… we spoke about recycling ♻️ and used repurposed items to create some birthday decorations 🎉.. we explored the world of water and discussed different sea/water creatures and their habitats 🐠🐊.. we did lots of dramatic play; pretending to roar like lions 🦁, stomp like elephants 🐘, hiss like snakes 🐍 and lots more!

Happy birthday to Sir David Attenborough who is 100 years old today. 🔎🐌
Many years back David discovered a loves nature and animals. He became fascinated by all the species he read about in books and wished he could meet them in real life. David decided to become a naturalist. He studied geology and zoology obtaining a degree in natural science. David began to work as a broadcaster and brought animals into the studio. They proved to be very entertaining guests. David wanted to film the animals in their natural habit, their homes. He went on trips all over the world. One of his shows, wildlife on one became the most popular show on tv in British history. David was honoured for his incredible documentaries about life on our planet, he also recieved a knighthood and today is know as Sir David. Lots of animals have been named after him. He continues his work today and believes that people have the power to preserve our planet. He suggests that there are always things to explore if you take the time to look for them.
We celebrated Sir David’s birthday by taking time to go on our own adventure, looking for bugs and collecting treasures in our outdoor environment. We took some magnifying glasses, notebooks and binoculars with us. We created a little environment for the bugs and spent time observing and caring for them.
