🔵Year 11 Leavers Celebrations – Part 1 🎉🔵

This afternoon, we celebrated and said goodbye to the first group of our Year 11 leavers. The afternoon began with our annual CVP BBQ, followed by a special achievement assembly to recognise all they have accomplished during their time at Crisp.

As part of the celebrations, each year 11 student received their own CVP top, which was signed by staff and fellow students as a special keepsake to remember their time with us.

We are incredibly proud of every student for the progress they have made, the achievements they have earned, and the personal growth they have shown throughout their journey at Crisp.

A special congratulations goes to FH, who received the Proprietor’s Stand Out Award, and RM, who was presented with the Outstanding Headteacher Award in recognition of their exceptional achievements and contributions.

We wish all of our Year 11 leavers every success and happiness in the future. Good luck Year 11 – we can’t wait to see what you achieve next! 🌟🎓💙

🔵 AP Olympics 2026 🔵

What an incredible event! Every student who took part was amazing, and we are truly inspired by their determination, enthusiasm and sportsmanship shown across all provisions. This was our third year of the AP Olympics and, by far, the most successful yet.

A huge congratulations to the winners of the Doug Elliott Award - Nottingham Education! What a fantastic achievement 👏

A big thank you to Bonnie and Craig for organising such a brilliant event. Your hard work, commitment and hours of preparation made the day a huge success.

We’d also like to extend our sincere thanks to all provisions for making this such a memorable and successful day. Without the continued support from all provisions, this event wouldn’t be possible.

Well done to everyone involved! We’re already looking forward to next year! 🏅💙

🔵 Pizza-Making Masterclass! 🍕🔵

On Tuesday, 7 students took part in a fantastic pizza-making masterclass at Pizza Express. They learned how to make their own pizzas from scratch, choosing and preparing their toppings before the ultimate taste test 😋 They even enjoyed a starter and dessert too – mmm!

The trip gave students the opportunity to get creative in the kitchen, develop their cooking skills, and enjoy some excellent food together with even better company.

🔵 We need you! 🔵

Following our fantastic ‘likely to meet standards’ outcome in our recent Ofsted pre-inspection, we are launching a brand-new Proprietor Body to help shape our next exciting chapter!

Because our students are the heart of everything we do, we want to make sure our parents and carers have a real voice at the table. We are looking for an enthusiastic Parent/Carer Representative and/or local community champion to join us!

What does the role involve?
✨ Attending just one friendly meeting per school term (about 1.5 to 2 hours).
✨ Sharing your unique insights, ideas, and perspective as a parent/carer or member of the local community.
✨ Helping us ensure our provision remains the best possible place for our young people.

Who are we looking for?
You don’t need any formal board or education experience at all! We are simply looking for a current or recent parent, carer, or local community champion who understands the joys and challenges of raising young people. Your real-world experience is exactly what we need.

This is a wonderful, rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference, collaborate with external partners, and help guide our provision forward. 🌟

🔵 Year 11 Leavers Celebration BBQ 🔵

Join us as we celebrate the end of an incredible journey for our Year 11 students! 🌭🍔☀️

Year 11 students, their parents/guardians, professionals, and referrers are warmly invited to our Leavers BBQ, where we’ll come together to enjoy great food and celebrate the memories, achievements, and milestones of our Year 11 students during their time at Crisp.

Following the BBQ, we’ll be holding a special Awards ceremony to recognise and celebrate the achievements, contributions, and successes of our amazing Year 11 cohort. 🏆✨

We look forward to celebrating with you all and giving our Year 11s the send-off they deserve - the CVP way 🔵

Last Friday and on Monday, some of our Art & Design students visited Splatt Printing in Nottingham with Holly for an exciting workshop.

As part of this term’s BTEC unit, students began by creating their own original designs on site before learning how to create them digitally. They then had the opportunity to print their artwork onto a t-shirt or hoodie of their choice.

Throughout the experience, students showed fantastic life skills by working in a professional printing environment, communicating confidently with new people and managing both their time & budgets effectively.

We were so impressed by the creativity and individuality of every design. Well done, we hope you enjoy wearing your amazing creations! 👕👩‍🎨🔵

🔵 Cooking at Crisp! 🔵

Did you know our students help prepare lunch every day? 🍽️
Did you know this also contributes towards their BTEC Level 1 qualification?
And did you know they regularly bake delicious sweet treats for staff, students and parents? 😋

Students involved in catering gain valuable hands-on experience while working towards their qualification in a fun and engaging way. They also have the opportunity to work alongside our qualified nutritionist, Rachel, creating tasty meals, developing new skills and building confidence in the kitchen 👩‍🍳🍰

This week one student made an assortment of cookies for the whole provision! They were incredible 🍪🔵

🔵 Last Week of Term Attendance Challenge! 🔵

As we head into the final week of term, Amber, our Safeguarding and Attendance Lead, has launched another attendance challenge to keep the momentum going!

On average, around 20 students achieve 100% attendance each week, which is something to be really proud of. Excellent attendance not only supports learning, but also helps students build confidence, develop social skills and strengthen friendships. Regular attendance gives students the best opportunity to thrive both academically and socially.

Last time, 13 students achieved 100% attendance over two weeks — a fantastic achievement 👏 This time, we’re hoping to see even more students rise to the challenge! And of course… every student that achieves 100% will receive some chocolate 🍫🔵

🔵 Off Site Fun 🔵

Our students have been making the most of the off-site opportunities, taking part in a wide range of activities including football, indoor rock climbing, boxing, walks and fishing. They also visit an outdoor centre in Leicester every week, where they get involved in a variety of exciting activities such as high ropes, archery, shooting and axe throwing.

With the sunshine making an appearance, students have loved getting outdoors ☀️ We can’t wait for the warmer months to see what else they get up to! 🔵
