Happy 4th Birthday to my oldest mindee. You are truly like one of the family and the most kind and loving little boy. We all hope you have a special day with your family today and we all look forward to celebrating with you tomorrow.

We have been finding out about ladybirds. We know that they love eating bugs in the garden, they can fly and they aren’t always red. We have been counting ladybirds spots, painting ladybirds and cutting them out. We went out in the garden and found lots of ladybirds 🐞

One of our favourite activities on a Friday is to join in with Papplewick Pre School Forest school down in the local woods. We swung in the hammock, climbed trees, made potions and drinks and rolled different balls down tubes. What an amazing learning experience.

We had a magical time releasing our butterflies. The children were able to hold them before the butterflies flew away. It was wonderful to see the excitement on the children’s faces.

We always enjoy exploring Newstead Abbey. What a beautiful place to hunt for wildlife and have fun with our friends.

We had a special delivery of caterpillars. The children have enjoyed watching the caterpillars move and eating. They are growing so fast and we are looking forward to them turning into butterflies. We have also used coloured scarves to dress up as butterflies, painted butterflies, read The Hungry Caterpillar book and discovered that there are lots of different caterpillars and butterflies.

We love going the Rainbow Stripes singing and story sessions at Bulwell Community Gardens. The children absolutely love the music out in the open air, followed by playing in the community garden and eating a picnic together. It’s so wonderful for them to experience live music and be able to join in with different instruments.
