On Wednesday, we held our first extra support transition session. These sessions are designed for year 6 students identified by their primary schools as needing additional support, helping them feel confident and prepared for the move to secondary school in September.
As part of these sessions, students take part in cooking lessons where they create bread animals, while also getting to know key staff members and future classmates in a relaxed and supportive environment. ππ’
The activities are designed to build familiarity, ease anxieties, and ensure a smooth and positive start to their secondary school journey.
Well done to the year 6 students who attended yesterday and thank you to our three sixth form students who attended the sessions to provide extra support! Also, a massive thank you to OT Fundraisers for donating all the ingredients for these sessionsβyour support has been greatly appreciated.π
We are looking forward to hosting more sessions over the coming weeks. π

Prior to the half term, our year 7 and year 8 rounders teams took part in a home fixture against Outwood Academy Kirkby.π
It was fantastic to see our teams in action in their first rounders fixture of the season, with an impressive 25 girls representing the school.
Both matches were played with great enthusiasm, determination and team spirit, and it was wonderful to see the players growing in confidence throughout the innings.
The year 8 team showcased excellent batting and fielding skills, as well as some clever tactical play, securing a well-deserved victory. The year 7 team also gave a brilliant performance, demonstrating resilience, teamwork and a positive attitude throughout the match, with Outwood Academy Kirkby narrowly coming out on top.
It was also fantastic to see so many students cheering on and supporting their peers from the sidelines. π£
A huge well done to everyone who took part β you represented the school brilliantly, and we are incredibly proud of your efforts! π
