Today we are continuing with our top tips for developing children's listening skills.
Listening tip 2 is all about modelling.
Modelling helps children learn how to develop skills through observing these in other people. If adults model positive listening behaviours, children are likely to pick up on these and also recognise their importance. It can be hard to pause when you are in the middle of a busy day, but giving a good model of being focussed and listening well is a great way to uspport children to develop this skill.
Check out our visual for some ideas on how to do this.
Lucy Heath, our photographer, will be visiting on Tuesday 12th May. If you would like to bring your child's siblings in to have a family shot, let Mrs Coleman know & arrive around 8.30 am. Weather permitting, the photos will be outdoors, no obligation to buy. 🙃😁

Our theme for April is 'Listening Skills'.
We know that being able to listen attentively will help children to reach their potential in school, pick up and understand information readily, and be good at listening and responding to others in conversations. But this skill is not always as easy as it sounds.
We are going to share our top tips on how we can support our children to become good listeners.

Today we celebrated World Down Syndrome Day, we planted sunflower seeds and read the book "Why Not' by George Webster. We learned how much fun it is to try new things like bike riding, camping & going on a zip wire.

For your information, we have contingency plans in place should it get colder.
Please note… wrap up warm!
Unfortunately there is currently an issue with the heating system for the whole site. The problem has been diagnosed and we are awaiting a repair, but in the meantime if you feel the cold do please wrap up warmly so that you’ll be comfortable while you’re here. Thank you.
Thank you to all who came and supported us yesterday at the Nativity Service. It was wonderful to see so many of you in Church, and you have raised £89.12 for the British Heart Foundation. If you didn't get the opportunity to donate, it's not too late, just hand your donation to a member of staff. 🙂
