Readipop Festival

We’re just about recovered from Saturday’s XOX 2026 event and are happy to share a selection of photos from the night, taken by the excellent . We loved seeing so many of you enjoying the live electronic acts Movement81 Mentat Bloco Electrohed Sophie Sirota & Martin Christie and we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who played and attended. Special thanks also to Rob Woodward, Steven Southall and all the Team Readipop members running the event, Matt Hulse whose “A Year In A Life Of RG EMOM” mini-doc was a huge hit (and will be showing from our Youtube channel soon) and, finally, to Oakford Social Club for being such a great venue for the night!

We are also especially grateful to everyone who kindly donated to Readipop before or at the event, allowing us to continue our work locally and provide more free to access events in the future. With your help, we have raised £447.23 so far from XOX 2026! Spryt Electra is the moniker of Welsh artist Simon Prytherch who will play the opening live set at XOX 2026 this Saturday (13th June). He says he developed an unhealthy obsession with analogue synthesizers at 13, sacrificing a year of soggy paper rounds to acquire a Korg 700S — a purchase that almost certainly triggered a family intervention. After John Peel airplay in the 80s, iconic rave-club flyers and VJing for thousands in the 90s, followed by 30 years in video games, a spell in Berlin gave birth to a return to writing music and Spryt Electra — DAWless, unique, and with absolutely no laptop safety net.

His new progressive house single “Thats The Way” came out on 15th April. Simon is also co-founder of Thames Valley Emom, because apparently one project wasn't enough. He recently performed in front of Ritchie Hawtin (Plastikman) at SUPERBOOTH26 and we are incredibly excited for his set at XOX 2026 in this Saturday.

Readipop are heading to the Oakford Social Club al on 13 June for a night that is definitely NOT unplugged!

Expect to hear six incredible live electronic music performers from across the UK alongside live visuals, all lovingly curated by Readipop's XOX & RG EMOM teams. Special guest performer and co-host will be Martin Christie (founder of the EMOM movement) and the night will also include the premiere screening of "A Year in the Life of RG EMOM" mini documentary by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Matt Hulse.

Sophie Sirota brings a touch of class to XOX 2026, creating evolving ambient soundscapes using strings, vocals, effects and live looping, taking us to places we can only imagine at Oakford Social Club next Saturday (13th June).

Sophie is a classically trained violist, singer, and composer with an extensive career spanning across genres. She has collaborated as a session musician, live performer, arranger, and composer with some of the most iconic names in music, including 4-Hero, D'Influence, Gabrielle, Beth Orton, Ed Harcourt, Paul Weller, Kim Deal, Robert Kirkby, Tindersticks, and visual artists Jeremy Millar and Sadie Hennesey.
Sophie also runs Coastal Electronauts, an electronic music night in Whitstable, Kent. She regularly performs in the South East and London and is known for her innovative performances creating ambient soundscapes, using looper and effects pedals to craft intricate, evolving textures.

Her debut album, ‘Pressure Drop’ came out in Oct 2025 and her most recent recent track, featured on Coastal Electronauts Vol. 1, was described by Electronic Sound Magazine as "an elegant requiem for looped strings that swells like the incoming tide,"

Mentat is a London-based Electronic Music performer making improvised and ever-evolving live techno and progressive house from one of the best-sounding compact modular synth rigs we've ever seen, which we’re excited to have him bring to Readipop presents: XOX 2026 w/ Movement81, Mentat, Martin Christie (founder of EMOMs) & more at Oakford Social Club in Reading on Saturday 13th June!

Mentat has released productions and remixes on Traum Schallplatten, Poker Flat and Amber Recordings and his music has been played and supported by John Digweed, Nick Muir, Nemone and Steve Parry. In previous musical lives he have worked with hip house legend Tyree Cooper, released instrumental hip hop as part of the duo Mysterons, and supported Example, Pendulum and Foals as a DJ.
