Education for Critical Consciousness by Paulo Freire argues that should help people develop “critical consciousness” , the ability to recognize and challenge social, political, and economic oppression rather than passively accept it. Freire criticizes traditional “banking” education, where teachers simply deposit information into students, and instead promotes a dialogical, problem-posing approach in which teachers and learners engage as co-investigators of reality. Through this process, education becomes a form of —reflection combined with action—enabling learners to understand their lived conditions and work toward transforming them. Available now at the Global Refills- Moore Beer by Bond Brews . It’s a classic English brewed with traditional malts and hops. The name is a clever nod to both “more beer” and Bobby Moore. Available now at the World Shop - Walter Rodney – A Revolutionary for Our Time by Leo Zeilig. It’s a biography of the Guyanese historian and activist Walter Rodney.

The book follows his life from Guyana to studying and teaching abroad, his involvement in radical politics across Africa, the Caribbean, and Europe, and his growing influence as a public intellectual. It also covers his assassination in 1980 and reflects on his lasting legacy in debates about , , and postcolonial development. Haymarket Books
