Come and see what your next three years looks like.
Our next Open Day takes place this Saturday and it’s the best way to get a feel for what Futureworks has to offer, whether you’re a student weighing up your options or a parent wanting to see the place for yourself.
We're pretty sure you know what an Open Day involves by now but full details are on our website via the link below if you need them.
What we'd rather tell you is why Futureworks is worth considering.
To put it simply, we’re based in the centre of Manchester, one of the most creative cities in the UK. We’re passionate about the creative industries and we only teach a small number of subjects. This means we’re genuine experts in these areas and we can focus on giving our students a real industry experience, with real contacts, real projects and real opportunities.
If that sounds like a good fit, we’d love to see you this weekend and tell you more about our courses in Music Production, Audio Engineering, Games Design, Game Art, Film, Animation and Visual Effects.
📍 Riverside Campus, New Bailey Street, Manchester, M3 5FS
🗓️ Saturday 20th June, 12pm - 4pm

Big news from one of our most valued partnerships 🎮
Women in Games has been named as a finalist for Outstanding Association at the 2026 MCV/DEVELOP Awards.
Women in Games does vital work creating pathways and opportunities for women and underrepresented groups across the sector and we’re proud to be their Educational Ambassador.
The awards celebrate the very best of the UK games industry, and this nomination is thoroughly deserved.
The ceremony takes place on June 18th and we'll be rooting for the whole WiG team on the night! 🤞

Not every degree is built for the industry. Ours are. 🎬🎧🎮
Futureworks offers specialist degrees in Sound, Music Production, Film & TV, Games, Animation and Visual Effects, all taught in purpose-built facilities with the same equipment and tech you'll use during your career.
We teach by asking our students to collaborate across subjects – because that's how the creative industries actually work.
You’ll also be studying in the heart of Manchester, previously named the Creative Capital of the UK by Adobe! 🏆

Our Riverside Campus recently hosted an exciting motion capture session in collaboration with Rokoko, one of the leading names in professional mocap technology.
Organised by VFX lecturer David Gillie, the session saw TV actor Vin Hawk and a Salford University Master's student working together to build and perform a scene from a brief in real time.
It's exactly the kind of hands-on, industry-facing experience we love at Futureworks – giving our students a front-row seat to how the professionals do it.

In need of something to add to your watchlists at the moment? 🤔 Let us recommend a couple of series involving two of our Futureworks alumni on Prime Video.
Audio Engineering graduate Martyn Ellis worked on Liverpool FC’s documentary From Doubters To Believers, spending time with the North of England’s top recordists to record sound with the team, fans and at matches.
There’s also the latest work from our Oscar-nominated Audio Engineering alumnus Enos Desjardins in his role as Sound Designer on Guy Ritchie’s Young Sherlock, which premiered earlier this year.
Two brilliant students, two brilliant productions 👏

Nothing beats learning by doing – and our Audio Tech volunteers smashed it at this year’s Manchester Folk Festival 👊🏆
For the second year running, Futureworks students supported sound teams across venues including Halle St Peter’s, Band on the Wall, Night & Day, The Castle and more.
Massive respect to Sam, Nicole, Cam, Millie, Emma, Tom, Pete for getting stuck in and grabbing a real world opportunity with both hands.
Experience like this makes all the difference.

Thinking about what comes next for your son or daughter?
We're holding an Open Evening on Wednesday 20 May – and it's genuinely worth the midweek trip.
It's a chance to see the campus for yourself, meet the tutors who deliver the courses and ask the questions that actually matter – about graduate outcomes, support, fees and what studying at Futureworks looks like day to day.
We specialise in higher education for the creative industries and are based in Manchester city centre, offering degrees in Music Production, Audio Engineering, Games Design, Film, Animation and Visual Effects.
Come along with your child. The more informed the conversation at home, the better the decision.

If you – or your son or daughter – have been sitting on your university offers, this week matters.
Wednesday 6th May is the UCAS deadline to choose a firm and insurance offer – for anyone who received all their offers by 31 March.
Miss it, and UCAS automatically declines everything. Not a great outcome after months of applications.
Log into UCAS Hub, check where things stand and make sure a decision is made before Wednesday.
If any offers came in after 31 March, there's a little more breathing room – but it's still worth checking sooner rather than later.
One conversation now could save a lot of stress down the track. 💬

Huge congratulations to Futureworks alumni Lewis Cooper and Caleb Riley, whose animation work features in the latest campaign for Mandy Indiana’s new album Urgh – recently awarded a rare 5-star review in The Guardian ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The band invited artists to create 30 second films inspired by themes of ‘sickness’ from the track “Sicko” – check out the official video on YouTube.

• Caleb – video at 1:00
The band’s guitarist Scott Fair is also a Futureworks Music Production alum (Class of 2018). A brilliant example of cross disciplinary alumni success.
