Stacey is unrecognisable these days
Over 1 and a half stone down
Feeling confident in the gym & loving her training
She was already going to the gym before joining Within Reach
She was even losing weight as well but it was staring to plateau
Usually that’s when most women slowly lose motivation and stop
Instead she got herself a plan, support & accountability to keep herself going
Stacey is flying at Within Reach right now
Training with the other girls
Meeting up for walks & winning every challenge we’ve had recently
Hence the change in clothes from all the vouchers she’s won 😂
Proud of you lass & excited to see the progress you’re going to keep making

This moths bingo challenge has got the girls training together
Meeting up with eachother to get out walking & get their steps
The majority of people try going their fitness goals alone
Usually because they feel out of place or like they don’t belong
Not having any support when their head falls off
Not having anyone to give them a boost when their motivation is down
Not having anyone to celebrate all the little milestones they’re so proud of
That’s why finding your people & surrounding yourself with them is so important
Just because they are YOUR goals doesn’t mean you have to work toward them by yourself
Having people to share the process with will keep you going when you want to quit
While making it feel 10x easier in the process
The community we’ve been building is the thing I’m most proud of since moving to Whitehaven
Its a place where everybody feels like & genuinely does belong

Your cycle impacts every part of your life
Those impacts can’t be ignored
Ignoring these impacts leads to you being fed up with your training when it feels hard
All it takes is one session to feel hard before you start to think
“Why am I even bothering”
Understanding how your cycle actually impacts your training
When to expect sessions to feel harder
How to adjust your training to work with your body
When you can push hard in your sessions & up the weights
Is a must for women
p.s. your cycle is yours, it will be different to other women out there

Fuelling your body isn’t a chore
It doesn’t have to be boring to give your body what it needs
It doesn’t have to take hours upon hours of prep at the weekend
You can have meals that you actually look forward to at the end of a day
Instead of dreading having a salad for tea again
Only to give in to your cravings & get a takeaway at the weekend
Our girls have ditched the “I’ll start again on Mondays”
And all the guilt that comes with enjoying your food
And replaced it with meals that keep them full, kill their cravings & get them results
Now imagine how you’d feel if you could do the same…

I felt so out of place at university
Studying for my degree in Strength & Conditioning
I somehow made it through a full coaching & gym based degree
Looking like I’d never set foot in a gym
At this point in my life I was what you’d call “skinny fat”
Basically a beer belly without any real muscle
Almost everyone else on the course you could tell trained
Some played sports, others were PTs & none of them felt out of place in a gym
Except for me
From the way I’m writing you’re probably thinking I was Billy No Mates on my course
You’d be wrong, lectures were always good crack & so was killing the time in-between them
No one was making me feel out of place except me
It took me so long to stop getting in my own head about going to the gym
It took me even longer to stop sabotaging myself at the weekends with takeaways & beers
It’s impossible to be consistent when you feel like an outsider
You always feel like you’re on borrowed land
Taking the first chance you can to retreat to what feels safe for you
Which is always the vices that got you were you are now & continue to make you feel worse
It took a lot to get out of this rut, to change this way of thinking
To eventually become so confident in the gym that I made it my career, my life & built Within Reach
The programme that helps women who felt all the same feelings as me
Finally feel like they have a group to belong to
Taking their goals from “impossible” to Within Reach
