☀️Important: Half Day School Closure ☀️

Due to the forecast of exceptionally high temperatures, the school will operate a half day on:

📅 Wednesday 24 June 2026
📅 Thursday 25 June 2026

Collection time is 12:20 for EYFS Y1/2 and 12:30 for Y3/4, 5 & 6. For those that normally walk home by themselves in Y5 and Y6 must be collected by an adult on the playground.

As per our recent email we are operating a limited menu.

The decision has been made to protect the health and wellbeing of our children and staff during the hottest part of the day.

☀️🌡️ Important Update 🌡️☀️

Due to the exceptionally hot weather forecast this week, we have made the decision to cancel all teacher-led after-school clubs, including Streetbeatz and after-school swimming sessions, for the remainder of the week. 🥵💦

🎭 Performing Sports Club will continue to run as normal today. Should tomorrow's session of Dodgeball need to be cancelled, they will contact families directly. 📞

⏰ Please collect children at the end of the school day at either 3:00pm or 3:10pm.

☀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Sports Day Update 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️☀️

Following our communication last week regarding the rearrangement of Sports Day due to the forecast temperatures, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's Sports Day events for EYFS, Year 1/2 and Year 3/4. 🌡️

Since our previous update, temperatures are now forecast to rise by a further 5°C. After carefully reviewing the conditions, we do not believe it would be safe for our children 👧👦, staff 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫, or the family members and friends ❤️ who would be attending. The health, safety and wellbeing of our whole school community always comes first. 🛡️💙

Although we know many children were excited for Sports Day 🎽🏅 and families were looking forward to cheering everyone on 📣👏, we want to ensure children still have the opportunity to enjoy some of the planned activities. These will now be incorporated into upcoming PE lessons ⚽️🏀🤸‍♀️, allowing children to take part and have fun with their classmates. 😊

We understand this news may be disappointing 😔 and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your understanding, kindness and continued support. 💙🙏

☀️🌡️ Warm Weather Update 🌡️☀️

With the warmer weather forecast for this week, we are relaxing our uniform policy and children are welcome to come to school in their PE kits 👕🩳👟 to help keep cool and comfortable.

🚫 Please remember that football shirts are not permitted.

To help everyone stay safe in the sunshine, please ensure that your child:

💧 Brings a named water bottle to school each day

🧴 Has sun cream applied before arriving at school

🧢 Brings a sun hat

☀️🌳 During the current heatwave, we will make sure children have plenty of opportunities for water breaks, time in the shade, and additional rest breaks when needed.
