🐛Deck Room Caterpillars🐛
Our pre-school children have been looking at their caterpillars this week and have been talking about the changes they have seen - the caterpillars are now in their cocoons!
The children also explored mark making inspired by the caterpillars, creating their own colourful patterns and representations while developing their fine motor skills and creativity.
We can't wait to see the next stage of their transformation and watch the butterflies emerge!🦋

Last week Anchor room explored making some mint and cucumber tea!☕️🥒
They used water, cucumber, mint tea and also some mint leaves that they picked from Deck room's garden. They combined all of the ingredients together, practising their scooping and pouring skills and built on their imagination as they pretended to drink the 'tea' and talk about how it tastes.🌿
The practitioners used words like "juicy" and "crunchy" to discuss the resources, and the children copied and told them that cucumber "is so yummy!". They also identified the items that were floating and those that were sinking, building on the children's understanding of mathematical concepts.

✏️🌈Mark Making in the Nest🌈✏️
Our babies have been exploring a variety of exciting mark making opportunities recently!
From making marks in paint and gloop, to exploring crayons, chalks, and paint pens, these experiences help babies develop allow our babies to develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and early communication skills. Every squiggle is an important step towards future writing development.
Most importantly, the children have been having lots of fun expressing themselves, exploring different textures, and discovering what happens when they make their mark!🎨
