Year 3/4 and 4 had the privilege of meeting with a wonderful author today!
Matt Oldfield was fantastic at explaining how he found inspiration to write books with his brother.

🥵☀️🫠Early Collection Time🥵☀️🫠
With the forecast for extreme temperatures over the coming days, and the challenges of maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for pupils and staff—particularly during the hottest part of the afternoon— we are offering parents the option to collect their children early both today and tomorrow.
The average temperature in school is already higher at this point in the day than it was yesterday, and we expect it to continue to rise further into the afternoon. Whilst we are doing all we can to ensure classrooms remain as cool as possible, we feel it is important that parents have the option to collect their children early if they wish. For this reason, we are offering an early collection.
School will remain open as normal both today and tomorrow to all pupils, and all pupils are expected to attend at the usual time of 8:30am tomorrow morning. Early collection is entirely optional.
If you choose to collect your child early, they can be collected from the main entrance of the school from 1:15pm.
Children who are not collected early should be collected at the usual time of 3:10pm, or from wraparound provision if they are attending. Clubs and boosters will continue to run should you wish for your child to attend.
⭐️Transition⭐️
Transition sessions will be going ahead as planned and will be optional to new parents/children to attend tomorrow given the predicted weather. If you can attend to complete the required forms, this would be really appreciated.

🌟 Volunteers Needed! 🌟
Can you help inspire the next generation?
We are looking for volunteers to come and talk to our children about careers, jobs or professions. Sharing your experiences can help broaden children's aspirations and give them valuable insight into the world of work.
If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please speak to the school office.
Thank you for helping us inspire the future! ⭐

🪘 Y6 have thoroughly enjoyed their African drumming workshop this afternoon to help celebrate World Music Day. They learnt how to play different rhythms on Djembe drums including call and response. They also learnt about the use of drums for communication 🪘
