Teachers already have enough on their plates.

That’s why schools appreciate programmes that are easy to implement and loved by pupils.

Simple. Effective. Memorable.

When a journalist wants to know all about your story and why you set up your business, it always feels a little uncomfortable.

Massively vulnerable.

Raw.

Exposed.

I’m incredibly proud of our family and how far we’ve come.

Unbelievably grateful that we have our boys.

But I still find it difficult talking to a complete stranger about something so deeply personal.

So why do I do it?

Because if sharing how I’ve taken some of the hardest challenges in my life and turned them into something positive helps even one person see that their own difficulties could become something meaningful too, then it’s worth every uncomfortable conversation.

Pudding & Pie exists because of our story.

And if that story helps children thrive, helps women build businesses they love, or simply reminds someone that difficult chapters don’t have to define the rest of the book, then I’m happy to keep sharing it.

A huge thank you to Stacey Cann for recognising me as Inspirational Franchisor of the Year at the Disruptive Franchise Awards.

It means more than you’ll ever know.

One of the things I love most about Pudding & Pie is the sheer variety of opportunities that come our way.

This week alone, we’ve been awarded funding from Sandwell Council to deliver healthy eating workshops during the summer holidays.

At the same time, we’re preparing to start sessions within prisons, creating opportunities for inmates to spend meaningful time with their families whilst learning new skills together.

Alongside that, we’re supporting schools with healthy eating awareness days, whole-school workshops, assemblies, clubs and wellbeing initiatives.

On paper, it might look like we’re a children’s cooking business.

But it has always been so much more than food.

It’s about confidence.
It’s about connection.
It’s about life skills.
It’s about wellbeing.
It’s about creating moments that matter.

And what makes me smile most is seeing these opportunities opening up for our franchisees across the UK. Watching talented women build businesses that genuinely make a difference in their communities is something I never take for granted.

Fourteen years ago, this started as a small passion project.

Today, it’s opening doors I never could have imagined.

Feeling incredibly grateful for where we are, excited for what’s ahead, and reminded once again that Pudding & Pie has always been about so much more than teaching children to cook 💘👩‍🍳

You can love your family and still want more.

🔴 Too many women feel guilty for wanting something beyond the school run, work and life admin.

🟢 But wanting fulfilment alongside family doesn’t make you ungrateful.

It makes you ambitious.

If you’re ready to explore what that could look like, come and join me for a relaxed Cuppa & Chat.

No pressure.
No expectations.

Just possibilities.

The best learning often looks like play.

While children are mixing and decorating, they’re also learning maths, communication and teamwork.

That’s the magic.

Save this post for later.

When you come off a 1:1 with a franchisee and she’s talking about taking on her first team member…

And she’s not even 12 months into her business.

Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Not because it’s about growth for growth’s sake.

But because I remember the conversations at the beginning.

The doubts.
The questions.
The “Will this actually work for me?”

To go from wondering whether you can fill your first session to wondering whether you need extra support because demand is growing…

That’s huge.

It’s easy to look at someone’s success and only see where they are now.

What you don’t always see are the calls made when confidence was low.
The follow-ups.
The school visits.
The early mornings.
The moments when carrying on would have been easier than pushing forward.

Watching women build businesses that genuinely fit around their lives while making a difference in their communities is a complete pinch-me moment.

And seeing them create opportunities for other women along the way?

That’s something really special.

These are the moments that remind me exactly why I do what I do. 💘👩‍🍳

“If I call on a Monday, they’ll be grumpy…

If I post that, people will think I’m showing off…

It’s not worth asking because they’ll probably say no…

Funny thing is…

We usually find exactly what we’re looking for.

Look for reasons why something won’t work, and you’ll find plenty.

Look for reasons to stay small, stay quiet, or play safe, and your brain will happily provide them.

But the opposite is true too.

Look for kind people, and you’ll meet them.

Look for opportunities, and you’ll start spotting them.

Look for reasons to be grateful, and suddenly there seem to be more of them.

The world hasn’t changed.

Your focus has.

I’m not suggesting we ignore reality or pretend everything is sunshine and rainbows.

But if we’re going to spend our energy looking for something…

Why not look for the good stuff?

You might be surprised by how much of it is already there.” 💘👩‍🍳

Helen has made the journey all the way from Cumbria to Sutton Coldfield to spend time shadowing in our nurseries and schools.

It’s such an important part of the journey, not just seeing how we deliver sessions, but understanding the values behind everything we do and what matters most when we’re working with children.

Between visits, we grabbed a quick lunch and spent some time planning the next few months. We talked through the schools we’ll be visiting together in Cumbria next week, as well as Helen’s plans for community classes, workshops and summer sessions.

I genuinely love this stage of the business.

Watching someone take all of the training, ideas and possibilities and start shaping them into something that’s uniquely theirs is incredibly special.

I can’t wait to watch Helen’s journey unfold and see the difference she’s going to make to children and families across Cumbria.
