Reception went to church this week and learned about special events that take place there. They learned about weddings and baptisms. They explored the font, helped the reverend pour the โ€˜special waterโ€™ into the font, and even took part in a mock baptism.

๐Ÿ… Sports Day โ€“ This Tuesday ๐Ÿ…

We are looking forward to our Sports Day on Tuesday and hope to see lots of families cheering the children on!

๐ŸŒŸ To kick off the celebrations, Sports Day will begin with an exciting jump rope performance from Chris at The Jump Rope Company. We know the children will be inspired by his amazing skills and energy!

๐Ÿ“… Times
โ€ข EYFS & KS1: 9:30am โ€“ 11:00am
โ€ข KS2: 1:15pm โ€“ 2:45pm

๐Ÿ“ Location
Sports Day will take place on our school field on Lichfield Road.

๐Ÿšถ Children should be brought to school as usual. Staff will accompany each class to and from the field throughout the day.

๐Ÿ‘• What should children wear?
All children should come to school wearing:
โ€ข A red, yellow, blue or green top (their house colour)
โ€ข Their usual PE shorts/bottoms
โ€ข Trainers

Your child will know which house colour they belong to.

๐Ÿ’ง Please ensure your child brings a named water bottle to school on this day so they can stay hydrated throughout the activities.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ It would be great if you could join us to support the children and help make the day extra special.

We can't wait for a fun-filled day of teamwork, determination and sporting success!

Good morning,

From September, we will be introducing a new app for booking school dinners, messaging, and parentsโ€™ evenings.
As part of this change, we will no longer be able to book dinners on your behalf from the school office. If a dinner has not been booked by the deadline, your child will need to bring a packed lunch instead.
Further details and guidance will be shared with you before the transition takes place.

Thank you for your continued support.

Another useful guide for families ๐Ÿ˜Š

Oral language plays a vital role in childrenโ€™s learning, literacy and social and emotional development.

Our latest guide supports parents and educators with practical, evidence-informed strategies to help children build school-ready language skills.

The guide explores:
โ€ข Building oral language through meaningful interaction
โ€ข Supporting listening and attention
โ€ข Growing childrenโ€™s vocabulary
โ€ข Sharing stories and naming feelings
โ€ข Working with settings to spot and support language needs
โ€ข Using evidence-based approaches to meet individual needs

With language developing rapidly between the ages of two and six, early support can make a lasting difference to childrenโ€™s confidence, communication and readiness for school.

Year 4/5 had a brilliant time on their trip to the National Space Centre. Throughout the day, the children enjoyed exploring the fascinating exhibits, learning about space exploration, and discovering more about our solar system. They were particularly excited by the interactive displays and the opportunity to experience the incredible planetarium show. The trip was both educational and inspiring, and the children represented the school exceptionally well with their enthusiasm, curiosity, and excellent behaviour. It was a memorable experience that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿš€๐ŸŒ ๐Ÿš€
