Every baker faces challenges.

A staffing issue. A supplier problem. A question you've never had to answer before. A decision you're not quite sure about.

The difference is having people you can turn to.

One of the biggest strengths of the CBA isn't what we do. It's who our members are.

A community of professional bakers willing to share knowledge, offer advice, and help each other succeed.

Because no one bakery has all the answers. But together, we have decades of experience, expertise, and insight.

That's the power of community.

The UK's leading Community of Professional Bakers.

β˜€οΈ It's National Picnic Week 🧺 and with National Picky Bits Day just around the corner, it feels like the perfect time to celebrate one of the biggest food trends of recent years.

Whether you call it a picnic, a grazing board, a sharing platter or picky bits, more people are embracing simple, shareable food that can be enjoyed anywhere.

And when you think about it, bakers have been doing picky bits long before they had a name. From picnic boxes and grazing platters to sandwiches, savouries and sweet treats, bakeries have been creating the perfect picnic spread for years.

We're interested to know what your customers are looking for this summer.

Do you offer picnic boxes or sharing platters? Have you seen demand grow for picnic-friendly products?

Share a photo below and show us what picky bits you have on offer in your bakery.

πŸ“£Industry Supporter sponsored message EDME

Wear your ingredients with pride

In a crowded bakery display, a coat of flakes and kibbles (cut grains) signals quality, craft and
nutritional value at a glance - giving consumers every reason to trade up.

EDME's wholegrain flakes and kibbles (cut grains) are available malted or toasted in barley,
wheat, rye, spelt and oat. They work as toppings or inclusions across a wide range of baked
goods - adding texture, fibre and a visible wholegrain character that speaks for itself on the
shelf.

Grown and processed in Britain. A consistent, traceable supply that adds visible value to
your range. Request samples at edme.com or contact [email protected]

What would you change if you had a magic wand for the baking industry? πŸͺ„

That was the question put to bakery leaders during a recent meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for the baking industry in Parliament.

The discussion covered some of the biggest challenges and opportunities facing our sector today, with representatives from across the industry sharing their views on what needs to happen next.

As the official secretariat for the APPG, we're proud to help ensure the voice of baking is heard.

The UK baking industry is made up of passionate businesses with important stories to tell.

We were delighted to connect Al Jazeera English with The Street Bakeshop for this feature, providing an opportunity to discuss the realities of running a bakery in today's climate and the challenges and opportunities facing the wider sector.

Independent bakeries continue to play an important role in communities across the UK, and features such as this help to highlight the work that goes on behind the scenes.

We would like to thank The Street Bakeshop for taking part and representing the industry so well, and Al Jazeera English Television for highlighting the sector.

We’re proud to continue supporting and championing bakery businesses across the UK.

Every bakery has a story.

From family businesses passed down through generations to new bakeries building something from the ground up, our members are at the heart of everything we do.

One of the things we're most proud of at the CBA is the incredible community of bakers, businesses, and individuals who make up our membership.

By sharing experiences, celebrating successes, and supporting one another through challenges, we're helping to build a stronger future for the baking industry.

This week, we're shining a spotlight on our members and the passion, hard work, and dedication they bring to our industry every day.

Because the CBA is more than a membership organisation. It's a community.

The UK's leading Community of Professional Bakers.
