🎱 Friday nights are 'kick back and ease into the weekend nights' for the teens visiting and enjoying our Hoddesdon Youth Club.

Every evening offers something slightly different but we always strive to offer relaxing activities like colouring and crafting alongside more active pursuits including pool, air hockey and train and track play.

The teens enjoy reading the Beano, playing UNO and completing jigsaw puzzles.

We also often have extra special visitors and entertainers and have some fun videos to share with you over the coming weeks.

Our Youth Club is designed for teenagers aged 12 to 18 with special educational needs and disabilities.

We see you week in, week out loving and supporting your children and the close relationships you have with your young people.

We understand that parenting a SEND child isn’t always easy and it comes with its own complexities and challenges.

We hope you’re appreciated, loved and spoilt today and understand the incredible job you do.

Children at our Bishop’s Stortford playscheme wanted to show their appreciation for their dads yesterday and enjoyed making Father’s Day cards with tissue paper hearts.

The children enjoyed the noise the tissue paper made when scrunched up while others enjoyed the feeling of glue on their hands.

Some of the children were able to add their own special messages inside the cards too.

🏳️‍🌈 TODAY is Hertford Family Pride Day at Hertford Castle 🏳️‍🌈

Saturday 20th June - Hertford Castle - 12pm to 4pm.

As one of the Hertford Mayor's chosen charities, CHIPS has been kindly given a stall at the Family Pride Day.

Please do come and say hello, learn a little bit about the vital work we do for hundreds of local SEND children and take a look at our handmade sunflower themed goodies.

All monies raised go towards providing our play-based clubs and days out across East Herts and Broxbourne.

🎨 What a pleasure it was to welcome mosaic artist and teacher Donna Reeves to our Youth Club and Hub sessions on Friday evening.

🇫🇷 🇩🇪 Donna is a talented, local artist who has been commissioned by Hertford Town Council o create a mosaic celebrating the friendship and town twinning of Hertford with Evron in France and Wildeshausen in Germany.

Donna has been keen to include the ideas of local children and encouraged our very own CHIPS children to contribute their designs and ideas on Friday.

Our young people loved working with Donna and expressing their ideas for what friendship 'looks like' to them.

CHIPS is a small and local charity providing clubs, playschemes and days out for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

🧡 Our clubs are all about creativity, play and friendship so Friday evening was a match made in heaven.

We'd like to thank Donna for joining us on Friday, inspiring our young people and we wish her luck with her final designs.

Donna's mosaic will be displayed in Evron Place, central Hertford near the Post Office later in the year. We can't wait to see it!

We've gone animal crazy at our Bishop's Stortford playscheme for SEND children recently.

Children have been celebrating Endangered Species Day, World Bee Day and Butterfly Awareness Day!

The children adored Endangered Species Day and enjoyed exploring all the different patterns found on tigers.

The children loved examining and recreating the patterns found on tigers by using coloured rice and their fine motor skills.

On World Bee Day, the children looked at how bees make honey with a multi-sensory tuff tray.

And for Butterfly Awareness Day, the children loved painting their own butterflies and playing with butterfly shaped pasta in the tuff trays.

All the children loved pouring, scooping and telling us everything they know about the different animals.

🍦 And to top it all off, everyone enjoyed a delicious ice lolly too.

These are just some of the fun activities children with special educational needs and disabilities enjoy at CHIPS playschemes.

We are a small charity dedicated to providing fun-packed clubs, playchemes and special days out for hundreds of local SEND children aged 3 to 19.

We welcome SEND children, their siblings and are proud of the fact we offer families respite while their children are having fun with us.
