From creative role play to road awareness themed activities that have been custom made by local artists, it’s been such a privilege to be part of the Scribbles journey in pre-school and see the children learning from our sessions together.

What makes Scribbles special has always been the feeling you get when you walk through the door — warmth, care, creativity and a genuine passion for helping children thrive.

So grateful for being asked to return every year to teach these wonderful little learners! Scribbles believe in ensuring children are 'school ready' and I'd like to think RAFT aid them along with this journey when they eventually leave for 'big school'.

What don’t I teach—from tots to teens? 🤔

Someone from a pre-school recently asked me what I teach teenagers… and was surprised by the answer. But by the end, it made total sense.

With teens, it’s not just about rules—it’s about understanding why they behave the way they do.
🚦
We talk about how their brains are still developing, how their eyesight and perception can affect their judgement, and why that makes decision-making—especially around roads—not as reliable as they might think.
🚦
They often feel like they’ve got it all figured out… but they’re actually one of the highest risk groups when it comes to road traffic collisions. Why?

By the end of the session, they know:👉 Peer pressure👉 Mobile distractions👉 Ongoing physical and cognitive development
🚦
It all plays a part.
🚦
Because when young people understand themselves, they make safer choices.
🚦
And that’s where real learning happens. 💡
