A Reminder That Our Ready 4 Reception Roadshow Is Happening This Saturday!

Are you preparing for your child to start Reception this September?

Join us for our Ready 4 Reception Roadshow, where our fantastic Early Years Team will be on hand to offer advice, tips and practical guidance to help make the transition to school as smooth as possible.

We're also delighted to be joined by representatives from Bexley Council's Early Years Team and Mind who will be available to provide information, support and answer any questions you may have.

This event is open to all families in the local area whose children are starting Reception in September, even if your child is not attending Hook Lane Primary School. We warmly welcome you to come along and find out how you can help ensure your child is Ready 4 Reception.

Last week reflect class started using typing.com to learn how to use the keyboard on the Chromebooks. They were very excited to earn stars and badges.

We were delighted to welcome our friends from Little Wings Big Dreams Nursery to Hook Lane yesterday for a very special visit!

The children are already familiar faces, joining us regularly to use our Reading Bus and making use of our school field for events. However, yesterday was their very first opportunity to explore and enjoy our Early Years playground!

It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as the children climbed, explored, played and enjoyed all the exciting outdoor learning opportunities on offer. Experiences like these help strengthen the connections between our local settings and support children as they become familiar with their future school environment.

We are so pleased we were able to share our space with them and look forward to welcoming them back again soon.

Imagine Class found a shady spot outside today to practise their history trails ready for their Big Outcome on the morning of Wednesday 1st July. Please let us know if you are unable to make it as we will make sure we pair your child up with another adult.

A huge well done to Hook Lane’s school choir led my Mrs Edgar as they represented the school at Discover Welling’s Community Fun Day this afternoon 🎶 🎤 🤩
