მიმდინარე წლის 13–14 ნოემბერს ქ. ლისაბონში (პორტულია) გრიგოლ რობაქიძის უნივერსიტეტის ასისტენტ-პროფესორმა და მიგრაციისა და დიასპორის კვლევითი ცენტრის ხელმძღვანელმა, ლელა გოგინავამ, მონაწილეობა მიიღო და მოდერატორობა გაუწია ვორქშოფის პირველ სესიას, რომელიც ორგანიზებული იყო მიგრაციის მკვლევართა საერთაშორისო ჰაბის (IMISCOE) განათლებისა და სოციალური უთანასწორობის საკითხებზე მუდმივი კომიტეტისა (EduSocial) და ლისაბონის უნივერსიტეტის სოციოლოგიის კვლევისა და სწავლების ცენტრთან არსებული მიგრაციის, მობილობისა და ეთნიკურობის კვლევით ჯგუფის (CIES-Iscte) მიერ.
ლელა გოგინავა IMISCOE-ს ქსელის ექსპერტია. როგორც ვორქშოფის თემის იდეის ავტორი, იგი ღონისძიების თანაორგანიზატორად მოიწვიეს. ვორქშოფზე ასევე წარმოდგენილი იყო კვლევა, რომლის ერთ-ერთი თანაავტორიც თავად ლელა გოგინავაა.
ვორქშოფმა თავი მოუყარა კარიერის სხვადასხვა ეტაპზე მყოფ მკვლევრებს — დოქტორანტებს, ადრეული კარიერული საფეხურის მკვლევრებსა და ცნობილ მეცნიერებს, რითაც ხელი შეუწყო აკადემიურ თანამშრომლობასა და ახალი კვლევების გაზიარებას.

On 13–14 November 2025, in Lisbon (Portugal), Lela Goginava — Assistant Professor at Grigol Robakidze University and Director of Center for Migration and Diaspora Studies — participated in and moderated the first session of a workshop jointly organized by the IMISCOE Standing Committee on Education and Social Inequality (EduSocial) and the Migration, Mobility and Ethnicity Research Group (CIES-Iscte) at the University Institute of Lisbon.
Lela Goginava is an expert of IMISCOE network. As the initiator of the workshop theme, she was also invited to serve as one of the co-organizers of the event. The workshop additionally featured a research presentation co-authored by Lela Goginava.
The workshop brought together researchers at various career stages — PhD candidates, early-career scholars, and senior academics — fostering academic collaboration and the exchange of new research findings.

გრიგოლ რობაქიძის უნივერსიტეტის ასისტენტ პროფესორისა და ამავე უნივერსიტეტის მიგრაციისა და დიასპორის კვლევითი ცენტრის ხელმძღვანელის - ლელა გოგინავას აკადემიური პოსტერი, წარმოდგენილია გამოფენაზე „მონებისა და მიგრანტი ქალების უხილავი ისტორიები: ექსპლუატაცია საუკუნეების განმავლობაში“, რომელიც მიმდინარეობს ქ. პარიზში (საფრნაგეთი), ბიბლოთეკაში “უტოპია” და გაგრძელდება 2026 წლის მაისამდე. აღნიშნული პოსტერი ეფუძნება ლელა გოგინავას კვლევას, რომელიც მოიცავს ახალგაზრდა ქართველი ტყვე ქალების ისტორიებს, რომლებიც ოსმალეთის იმპერიის ყველაზე გავლენიან ფიგურებად — ვალიდე სულთნებად, სულთნების დედებად და მმართველი დინასტიის ფორმირებაში ჩართულ გავლენიან პიროვნებებად იქცნენ.
აღნიშნული გამოფენა ხორციელდება ევროკავშირის COST Association – European Cooperation in Science and Technology და ჟიულ ვერნის სახელობის პიკარდის უნივერსიტეტის (ამიენი) მხარდაჭერით.
👉The academic poster by Lela Goginava, Assistant Professor at Grigol Robakidze University and Head of the Center for Migration and Diaspora Studies at the same institution, is presented at the exhibition “The Invisibility of Slave and Migrant Women: An Exploitation Throughout History”, which is taking place in Librairie Utopia, Paris (France) , and will run until May 2026.
The poster is based on Lela Goginava’s research, which explores the stories of young Georgian captive women who became some of the most influential figures in the Ottoman Empire — Valide Sultans, mothers of sultans, and prominent women involved in shaping the ruling dynasty.
The exhibition is organized with the support of the EU’s COST Association – European Cooperation in Science and Technology and the Université de Picardie Jules Verne (Amiens).

2025 წლის 8 ივნისს გრიგოლ რობაქიძის უნივერსიტეტის ტურიზმის ფაკულტეტის სტუდენტებმა სასწავლო-სამუშაო ტურის ფარგლებში მოინახულეს ისტორიული სოფელი ასურეთი (ყოფილი ელიზაბეთტალი) — ერთ-ერთი გამორჩეული გერმანული კოლონია საქართველოში, რომელიც მე-19 საუკუნეში ვიურტემბერგიდან ჩამოსულმა შვაბმა გერმანელებმა დააარსეს.
ტური განხორციელდა პროექტის – „გამოჩენილი და ცნობილი უცხოელი მიგრანტები საქართველოში“ – ფარგლებში, რომლის მიზანია საქართველოში მცხოვრები მიგრანტების მიერ შექმნილი კულტურული და ისტორიული მემკვიდრეობის გამოვლენა და მისი ციფრულ ფორმატში ხელმისაწვდომობის უზრუნველყოფა, როგორც აკადემიური საზოგადოებისთვის, ასევე ტურიზმით დაინტერესებული ფართო აუდიტორიისთვის.
ტურის ფარგლებში სტუდენტებმა მოინახულეს: ისტორიული გერმანული სახლები; ლუთერანული ეკლესია (კირხე); გერმანული სასაფლაო და უძველესი გერმანული ღვინის მარანი.

On June 8, 2025, students from the Faculty of Tourism at Grigol Robakidze University visited the historic village of Asureti (formerly Elisabethtal) as part of a study and research tour. Asureti is one of the most prominent German colonies in Georgia, founded in the 19th century by Swabian Germans who emigrated from Württemberg.
The tour was conducted within the framework of the project “Prominent and Notable Foreign Migrants in Georgia,” which aims to identify the cultural and historical heritage created by migrants in Georgia and ensure its accessibility in digital format—both for the academic community and a wider audience interested in tourism and cultural history.
As part of the tour, students visited: Historical German houses; The Lutheran Church (Kirche); The German cemetery and an old German wine cellar
A significant portion of the visit was dedicated to working with databases and historical sources, giving students the opportunity to actively participate in the creation of an interactive map, which will visualize databases and heritage sites across Georgia related to migration history.
The tour was organized with the support of Grigol Robakidze University and was led by:�🔹 Lela Goginava – Director of the Migration and Diaspora Research Center and Project Leader�🔹 Maka Piranashvili – Associate Professor at the School of Business and Management and Deputy Head of the Bachelor's Program in Tourism
This tour was an important step for students in gaining hands-on research experience, deepening their understanding of migration history, and engaging in interdisciplinary educational initiatives.

Lela Goginava, Director of the Center for Migration and Diaspora Studies at Grigol Robakidze University, has been selected as a co-organizer of an international seminar to be held on November 13–14, 2025, in Lisbon, Portugal. The seminar is titled: "Language Diversity, Education and Learning in the Context of Migration and Diaspora."
The event is organized by the International Migration Research Network (IMISCOE), in collaboration with its Standing Committee on Education and Social Inequality (EduSocial), and the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-Iscte) at Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon. The seminar will bring together leading scholars in the fields of migration, multilingualism, and inclusive education.

Dr. Tatiana Sichinava, a researcher at the Center for Migration and Diaspora Studies at Grigol Robakidze University, will participate in the Oxford Migration Studies Society Conference, which will take place on May 17–18, 2025, at the University of Oxford (UK).
In addition, Tatiana’s article will be published in a special issue of Routed Magazine, further deepening the discussion on climate migration and spatial transformations.

The CERC Migration and Bridging Divides Civil Society & Public Administration Fellowship program promotes international collaboration and learning exchange between practitioners and researchers. It provides a unique professional development opportunity for practitioners to share and build on their field experience, connect to an expert team of Canadian and international researchers and local stakeholders, and receive research training or conduct their own field research.

The Fellowship includes:

📢 12th ICMPD International Summer School on Migration takes place from 29 June to 5 July 2025 in Armenia: Apply Now!

The summer school is a collaborative effort between the EU-funded project, “Strengthening Development Impact of Migration in Georgia” (STREAMinG 2), and the Prague Process, with both initiatives led by ICMPD. 🤝

🎓 This one-week intensive program, aimed at facilitating critical academic exchange and reflection on migration issues, will feature multidisciplinary and innovative academic and research-oriented lectures, seminars, and projects focusing on migration situations and policies.

Admission:
🔹 Citizens from Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine are eligible to apply. Some spots will be available for nationals of these countries living in the EU.
🔹 Up to 35 students from migration studies, journalism/ media studies, international/migration law, economics, demography, history and/ or social and political sciences can take part in the summer school.
