Accra High School

Onukpa Paul Tawiah Quaye, was born on 6th May, 1953. He served as the Inspector General of Police from 2009 to 2013.
He began his service as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1980 at the age of 27.

He completed Accra High School in 1974.
He obtained a degree in Computer Science and also had an Executive Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management.
He introduced a number of reforms geared towards operational efficiency and unity within the service.

In 2011, he was recognized as the Most Effective and Efficient IGP in West Africa from the West African Nobles Forum for his leadership style.

He was a proud old student, of the High school.
He was the guest speaker at the AHISCO 86th Speech and Prize Giving Day in 2009. He also saw to the refurbishment of the school's computer lab.

Fare thee well Onukpa Quaye. You have paid your dues to Ghana and your alma mater.

Congratulations to Accra High School for emerging the champion of the Ladé Worsonu Students Poetry Conttest organized by the Creative Arts Agency at the National Children's Library, Accra.

This competition had participants from St. Thomas Aquinas SHS, Ebenezer SHS, Labone SHS, Wesley Grammar SHS and Accra Girls SHS.

This victory, is a statement of the academic excellence and prowess of our Arts Department.

Congratulations Onukpa Dr. Papa Kobina Enyimah Moses, on your graduation with a PhD in Education Inquiry, Measurement and Evaluation from the prestigious Brigham Young University, Utah, USA.

Onukpa Dr. Moses, undertook his research works in some schools in Ghana. He completed Accra High School in 2009.

Today, we seize the spotlight to celebrate our very own, Onukpa Anthony Woode. He is an actor, writer, director, model and a brand ambassador.

He plays several lead and prominent roles in Ghallywood and Nollywood and known for his versatile, controlled, emotional and powerful performances.

Amongst his movies are, Inspector Bediako, RENEWED, SAVANNAH, Lost In Marriage, Unbothered Heart, In Love With Your Man and many more.

He has several awards to his credit such, Best Actor-UMB Ghana Tetiary Awards (2018), Most Promising Actor- Golden Movie Awards (2021), Best Actor- Supreme Academy Awards (2022), Best Actor-Ghana Arts and Entertainment Awards (2023) and the Best Actor in a leading role-Ghana Movie Awards (2021).
