An alumna of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) Mariam Mohammed has been named winner of the 2025 JAY Lit Prize for Poetry.

Miss Mohammed, now a PhD student studying Writing, Rhetoric and Cultures at Michigan State University, won the award for her poem “The B(lack)ody as a Map to Self,” published in Issue 9 of the Journal of African Youth Literature (JAY Lit). The award recognises outstanding contributions to African writing published in the journal over the past year.

It is announced for the information of prospective applicants (as specified above) and the general public that application e-vouchers to Undergraduate Degree/Top-Up programmes of study at KNUST for the 2026/2027 Academic Year are on sale.

Applicants who have their Examination Results at the time of application and those who will be writing WASSCE in July/August 2026 are eligible to apply.

The KNUST Faculty of Law is set to host the 7th Eminent Legal Scholars and Lawyers Public Lecture Series. The lecture is themed "The Land Act, 2020 (Act 1036) at 5 Years: The Gains and Challenges," with His Lordship Justice Alexander Osei Tutu of the Court of Appeal, Ghana, as the speaker.
