UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN RESEARCHER EXPLORES COLLABORATION OPPORTUNITIES AT KNUST
A doctoral researcher from the University of Michigan, Mr. Kwame Yane Tsipo, has paid a courtesy call on the Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO), Professor Edmund Ekuadzi, as part of his research visit to KNUST.

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the Vice-Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO), Prof. (Mrs.) Augustina Angelina Sylverken received a delegation of researchers from the POINT Project who paid a courtesy call to the Office during their visit to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The delegation is at KNUST to participate in an intensive one-week workshop under the POINT Project, a collaborative research initiative supported by the Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF), which focuses on co-creating practical and evidence-based solutions for sustainable urban mobility in Sub-Saharan Africa, with particular emphasis on Ghana and Rwanda.

The Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Prof. (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson warmly received a delegation from BioMex® and the University of Applied Sciences Koblenz, Germany on 3rd June, 2026, at the Council Chamber. The purpose of their visit was to sign a Memorandum of Understanding and an Operational Agreement, aimed at strengthening biomedIcal and pharmaceutical development in Ghana.
The BioMex® delegation comprised Mr. Marc Bludau, Managing Director; Prof. Dr. Clemens Wollny, Senior Consultant Project Head; Dr. Anna Kwarley Quartey, Expert and Technical Advisor, GIZ; Mr. Adedeji Olusanya, Project Manager; and Ms. Eva Krolla, Marketing Director.

BUILDING AFRICAN ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE: KNUST IPO AND UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN FORGE PATHWAYS FOR COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH AND IMPACT
On Monday, 1st June 2026, the International Programmes Office (IPO) at KNUST had the distinct pleasure of hosting a high-level delegation from the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa. The team, led by Dr. Joseph Owusu, Academic Programme coordinator under the Mastercard Foundation, comprised Prof. Tracey Naledi and Dr. Xolani Disu, paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Dean of the IPO, Prof. (Mrs) Augustina Angelina Sylverken. The historic visit opened the door to exciting new frontiers for academic, research and institutional collaboration between two of the continent's leading universities.
