Arctic DTU Sisimiut

Arctic spirit, teamwork, and strong representation on the ski trails.

In april, staff and students from Arctic DTU came together to compete in the SSP company relay—and what a performance it was!

With teams of three skiing 2 km each (freestyle), our representants showed both determination and team spirit. We’re proud to share that both our women’s and men’s relay teams secured an impressive 2nd place 🥈

Beyond the results, it was a great event filled with energy, collaboration, and community—on and off the snow. A big thank you to everyone who joined, supported, and helped to organize!

Already looking forward to the next race 💙

Though we promote our programs year-round, it’s this special time of year when we ramp up our efforts to welcome new students!

We’re hitting the road with the educational caravan, traveling along the coast of Greenland to bring our programs directly to the prospective future students that will contribute to sustainable development in Arctic regions. 🌊🏗️

🛠️ Building Community and Skills in Sisimiut! 🌟

As part of our annual Introduction Week, new students at DTU embarked on a special project. This year, in partnership with Qeqqata Kommunia, our students have designed and constructed a shelter destined for the backcountry to benefit the public. 🏕️🔨

This hands-on project provided an excellent opportunity for our students to learn the essentials of construction, project management, logistics, and site safety—all within the unique challenges of the Arctic environment. It’s a fantastic way to build bonds among students and enhance a sense of responsibility and community engagement.

This year, DTU and KTI (Technical College of Greenland) are celebrating a remarkable 25-year journey of collaboration in Sisimiut. We were delighted to join a festive event with distinguished guests, including the visionary leaders and founders of both institutions, alongside our dedicated colleagues, students and alumni. 🎈🤝

Together, we've shared countless memories and laid ambitious plans for future cooperation. Our partnership has been instrumental in advancing Arctic engineering education and research, directly addressing Greenland’s growing needs—from sustainable fisheries to infrastructure for new international airports and climate adaptation strategies. 🌍❄️

As we look to the future, we are committed to further empowering the bright young minds of Greenland, equipping them with the skills to innovate and adapt in the face of Arctic challenges.

Here’s to many more years of making a difference together!
