They took turns in the sound, camera while at the same time acting!

It was truly an incredible experience to spend the entire week’s dinners surrounded by brilliant individuals, immersed in the world of creativity, sharing amazing poems written by the artists in the workshops, exchanging creative ideas and stories, playing “Myth games,” and being open to all emotions while laughing and smiling throughout.

Philip Cartelli, filmmaker and researcher, will lead a SOUND 🎺🥁🎤 seminar with our participants.

👀Philip Cartelli is a moving-image artist and researcher whose film and video work has been exhibited at Locarno Film Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Visions du Réel, Torino Film Festival, FID Marseille, and Film at Lincoln Center’s Art of the Real, among others.
He holds a dual PhD from Harvard University (where he was a member of the Sensory Ethnography Lab) and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris), and was a participant in the Whitney Independent Study Program.
He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Visual Arts at Wagner College in New York City.
For the past several years, Philip has also been a regular collaborator of Ethnofest - Athens Ethnographic Film Festival.

Geli Mademli, film programmer, writer, and scholar, will lead a thematic seminar with our participants and animate the Q&A following the final night’s public screening!

Geli Mademli is a film programmer, writer, and scholar.
She is part of the Thessaloniki Film Festival team, where she works as the publications manager and programming assistant.
Geli has been the programmer and curator of many film festivals and venues, such as the Syros International Film Festival, Goethe-Institut Athen, LIMA and ΟΤ301 in the Netherlands, and the Cinemateca Brasileira.
She is an editorial board member of the open-access, peer-reviewed journal Filmicon: Journal of Greek Film Studies. She has taught courses on film, writing, and archival studies at the University of Amsterdam, the Amsterdam University College, and the University of the Aegean in Le**os.
She is currently completing a PhD on crisis discourse in Greek film heritage at the University of Amsterdam.
