🔄 15,000 kg of marine plastic out of the sea in just three months!
Working across East Alexandria, Egypt, alongside with ONE OCEAN FOUNDATION to remove ghost nets from deep-sea habitats. Every piece of collected fishing gear is brought back to land for recycling. Hit follow to track our progress 🇪🇬

Happy Monday! Wishing everyone a productive week ahead ✌🏻
This photo was taken in Italy, where our local port coordinator Nicola Rasore and regional manager Gabriella met with local fishers who collect end-of-life fishing gear at a prevention port — so these nets never end up in the sea.
Enaleia now operates in five countries — and every day we’re reminded that plastic pollution is a critical issue worldwide. That’s why we’re collaborating with like-minded people across the Mediterranean to clean it up, one net at a time!
Let’s make this week count 🌊♻️

Peculiar Saturday — this week we’re showing you something you don’t see every day 👀
Our team recovered two toilets from the fishing port of Patras. We have no idea why they were there or how they ended up in the sea, but we made sure they aren’t anymore ✅
Toilets aren’t just unsightly. They can crush delicate seagrass meadows, break into sharp pieces, and trap marine life. Getting them out means a safer seabed for everything that lives there.
Two less toilets in the sea. A small win for the port! 🌊

♻️ Most people think marine plastic is just single-use bottles on holiday beaches, but the real catastrophe is sitting deep below the surface.

🌊 The sea gives us a lot so we are out on the water every day giving something back. Our network collects marine plastic waste at the source alongside local fishing communities. Hit follow to help us protect our waters 💙

Peculiar Saturday — this week we show you a radiator we pulled out of the sea ☀️
Yes, a radiator. As if someone thought: «The sea feels cold. Let me throw in a radiator to warm it up»
Spoiler: it doesn’t work. It never works. All it does is rust, leak toxins, and become underwater junk.
The sea is still cold. But now it’s also one radiator cleaner ♻️
Don’t try to heat the ocean with trash. Just wear a wetsuit 🤿

Peculiar Saturday — this week we’re showing you pipes from an abandoned fish farm 🎣
We found them on a small islet during a cleanup with the help of local fishers. They’re in very good condition and fully recyclable.
Instead of breaking down into microplastics, they can go back into the material cycle ♻️
Just another reminder that cleanups matter — even when what you find isn’t particularly weird. It’s just waste that shouldn’t be there 🫰

A dehumidifier that couldn’t dry the sea… so we pulled it out 💧
Welcome to Peculiar Saturday. This week’s weird find: a dehumidifier, pulled from the port of Patras. Why was it underwater? No idea. But it’s not there anymore.
One less appliance poisoning the sea. One more reason to keep cleaning.

Happy Monday from Hydra 🎣
Port coordinator Fanis is sitting by his great achievement: end-of-life fishing gear collected before it ends up in the sea. If not prevented from entering the marine environment, fishing nets will keep trapping marine life long after they are lost. So keeping them out makes a real difference.
Thank you, Fanis, and everyone in Hydra who helps turn risk into recovery.
Have a wonderful week!
