It’s been such a joy hosting the Oxford Global Camp at Byron College and seeing the students dive into so many different subjects, from lively debates to creative thinking and leadership sessions.

Here are some of the students in our science labs, fully in their element — curious, focused, and working things out together.

There’s a really special energy around the school this week, and it’s been lovely to be part of it.

This morning, we watched our Year 6 pupils take an important step as they completed their primary education. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and the wonderful young people they have become. For many, this is not goodbye but simply the next stage of their Byron journey as they continue into secondary school. We look forward to seeing them embrace the opportunities and adventures that lie ahead.

Mental Maths Challenge Success!

Around 100 students from Years 3–10 put their mental maths skills to the test in our exciting Mental Multiplication Competition! Finalists faced an impressive challenge: multiplying two-digit numbers by two-digit numbers entirely in their heads — all within just a few seconds!

Congratulations to our winner Aiden (Year 6) and a huge well done to every student who participated!

A huge "congratulations" to our KS3 Byron Certificate Gold winners who have worked really hard all year long by completing tasks from all 4 categories of CARE. Although we are proud of all our students, the 31 Gold winners have gone above and beyond by completing at least 16 tasks focusing on the development of a variety of skills and competencies. The Parents Association has once again generously supported their efforts by paying for their Reward trip to "Mind the Step" where students had a lot of fun. What a great way to end the year!

A little Viking appreciation post! ⚔️🎨
I wanted to share the children's incredible first attempts at their Viking art project. Starting from their own plans, they worked together to create some fantastic pieces, applying the techniques we've been learning with confidence and creativity. I was so impressed by their teamwork and the effort they put into every detail. They should be very proud of themselves! ✨

Last night, we celebrated the graduation of our Year 13 students at Byron College. It was a wonderful evening marking the end of an important chapter and the beginning of many exciting new ones.

We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and delighted to see them embark on the next stage of their journeys. We wish each of them every success, happiness, and fulfilment in the future. Once a Byron student, always part of the Byron family.

Our Year 4 trip to Sklavenitis Supermarket was a fun and engaging financial literacy experience. Students worked collaboratively to plan a birthday party for 40 classmates within a €250 budget, applying their knowledge of the four operations and rounding. They were challenged to balance their excitement with sensible spending, showing great critical thinking—and had a fantastic time in the process!

Year 6 Leave a Lasting Legacy
As part of their ongoing partnership with Boroume, our Year 6 students have continued to put our CARE values into action through regular visits to the Gerakas Farmers' Market.
Over the course of the 2025–2026 academic year, our students helped rescue:
938kg of surplus fruit and vegetables
This remarkable achievement is equivalent to:
• 2,814 portions of food provided to those in need
• 7.3 tonnes of CO₂ emissions prevented from entering the atmosphere
• 134 car journeys between Athens and Thessaloniki in environmental impact
Most importantly, this food did not go to waste. Instead, it was redistributed through Kea Hara to support members of our local community.
These figures represent far more than numbers. They reflect the commitment, compassion and sense of responsibility shown by our students throughout the year. Through their actions, they have helped reduce waste, support others and make a positive contribution to the environment.
As Year 6 prepare to leave Primary School, they can be proud of the difference they have made. Their work with Boroume is a lasting example of what can be achieved when young people choose to make a positive impact on the world around them.
A special thank you must also go to Ms Kleio Stone, whose dedication, organisation and commitment behind the scenes have made this partnership possible. Her hard work has ensured that our students have had the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to their community while developing a deeper understanding of social responsibility and environmental sustainability.

Our Year 5 students enjoyed an engaging Financial Literacy trip to Praktiker today, where they had the opportunity to apply their mathematical and budgeting skills in a real-world setting. Working collaboratively in groups, students were challenged to design and fit out a bathroom using actual prices for tiles, appliances, and accessories.
While the task proved challenging at times, students demonstrated perseverance, teamwork, and thoughtful decision-making as they worked to stay within their budget constraints. It was a valuable and enjoyable learning experience that brought classroom concepts to life.
