A truly fruitful journey through the Mâconnais!

Bourgogne Wine Board recently wrapped up an insightful "Bourgogne Wine Talk" series, taking a deep dive into the region's hidden gems. Moving "off the beaten track" allowed us to explore terroir-driven Bourgogne that delivers identity, precision, and incredible value.

A huge thank you to Vins de Bourgogne for curating this exceptional series of talks, and to Debra Meiburg MW for her expert guidance in bringing these four distinct terroirs to life.

The tasting lineup featured:
• Mâcon-Igé 2022 (Château London – Jean-Claude Boisset): Structured with beautiful limestone tension.
• Mâcon Milly-Lamartine 2023 (Clos du Four – Vignerons des Terres Secrètes): Sunny, generous, and perfectly balanced.
• Mâcon-Pierreclos 2023 (La Cadole – Domaine Marc Jambon et Fils): A serious, mineral-driven, and highly gastronomic profile.
• Mâcon-Loché 2023 (Les Longues Terres – Domaine Marcel Couturier): Wonderfully rounded, expressive, and charming.

It is clear that the Mâconnais is the future of Bourgogne for the curious drinker.

Our incredible WSET Wine Educator, Jack Cheung, broke down the science behind the perfect pairing—leaving all pretension at the door. We tasted our way through Alpine history with heavy-hitting cheeses like Beaufort, Reblochon, Tomme de Savoie, and Abondance, matching their rich, nutty, and creamy flavors with a killer roster of crisp whites also from Savoie, elegant reds, champagne and Sauternes.
