飛行機に乗り遅れそうだった。
I was likely to miss the plane but I could catch the plane.

My student told me that he almost missed the class due to his busy work. So I made how to say that in Japanese.
パーティーに間に合わないところでした。
飛行機に乗れないところでした。

This chart: You must use Negative form.
Almost miss something, but in the end you could make it.
