Team Training Before the World Championships!

Last Saturday, we were delighted to host a special training session for the players representing Scholastic AniChess and the Hong Kong Youth Chess Association at the upcoming FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Team Championships 2026.

Players from both teams came together at the Scholastic Chess venue for an afternoon of practice games, preparation, and friendly competition.

The session provided a great opportunity to test ideas, gain valuable match experience, and prepare for one of the biggest chess events ever hosted in Hong Kong.

Most importantly, it was a fantastic atmosphere filled with chess, teamwork, and a shared passion for the game. 🤝♟️

A big thank you to all players, coaches, and parents who made this training session possible.

We wish both teams the best of luck in the World Championships and look forward to following their journey!

♟️ Tournament Ready! Workshop Successfully Completed

On Sunday we hosted our special tournament preparation workshop dedicated entirely to helping students get ready for the busy June competition season.

To make the workshop suitable for players of all levels, students were divided into two groups by playing strength:

🔹 Beginners Group (not rated) — led by Principal Oliver
🔹 Advanced Group (1500-1800 FIDE Rating) — led by Head Coach Pavel

Throughout this 2-hour event, students explored both the theoretical and practical sides of tournament preparation.

Topics included:

✅ Tournament preparation and routines
✅ Rules and practical etiquette
✅ Time management and handling pressure
✅ Common mistakes players make
✅ Team events vs individual tournaments
✅ Practical games and tournament exercises

We were especially happy to welcome both experienced tournament players and students preparing for their very first competitions.

🎁 Parents also received our Digital Tournament Guide to support students beyond the workshop.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us — and good luck to all students in the upcoming June tournaments! ♟️
