The meeting opened with an inspiring thought by Terry Choi, who reflected on how his perspective on public speaking has evolved over time. Chairperson Simpson Lee then welcomed members, introduced the meeting facilitators, and guided the evening’s proceedings.

Toastmaster of the Evening Derek Cheung led an engaging Prepared Speech Session featuring three insightful speeches:

* Victor So shared how chess helps develop the ability to anticipate others’ intentions.
* Ramya explored the importance of building genuine connections with audiences.
* Jennifer Wong reflected on understanding mutual needs in relationships through a personal story.

The Table Topics Session, led by Kai Tang, challenged Vincent, Kenny, Salina, Lotus, S.K., and Chloe with thought-provoking and humorous questions.

For evaluations, Jessie Ng and Andrew Yeung assessed the Table Topics speakers, while Eddie Lee, Jessica Lam, and Alice Tse evaluated the prepared speeches, providing constructive and encouraging feedback.

The meeting also included club business updates, including a final reminder about the upcoming 33rd Anniversary Dinner. Reporting sessions were delivered by Jade Cai, Pauline Wong, and Francis Cheng, followed by a comprehensive General Evaluation from Jennifer Cheng.

What a fantastic evening we had on 1 June at our Toastmaster Achievers Club meeting!
The night kicked off with Victor Yip as Joke Master, sharing a hilarious story about helping with luggage only to be mistaken for a chauffeur! Evian Wong then beautifully hosted our prepared speech session, featuring Kai Tang’s moving family Icebreaker, "Soften your heart," and Cindy Chan’s peak into her inner world and entertainment industry experiences in "I’m the extra." 🚗🎬
We also celebrated our second New Member Induction of the year, hosted by Cary Barce, Pauline Leung, and Jessie Ng, followed by a dedicated session by Welcoming Officer Jessica Lam to give our newest members a warm spotlight. Before evaluations, our next-term President-Elect Ramya Narayanaswamy shared key club updates and promoted our upcoming July annual dinner! 🍽️✨

This week we embrace change, build new skills, and take the next step in our public speaking journey.

Join us for an engaging session designed to enhance your public speaking skills. This event offers valuable opportunities for storytelling, impromptu speaking, and delivering speeches in a supportive environment.

Participants will benefit from constructive evaluations provided by high-quality speakers and coaches, to help refine your communication abilities and build confidence.

Established in 1993, we are the only English-speaking Toastmasters club in Hong Kong that meets weekly.

It was such a fun meeting, with the atmosphere enhanced according to the meeting theme 'A picture paints a thousand words', and the word of the day: 'Evoke'.

Chairman Cary Barce led the proceedings of the overall meeting, game master Jessica Lam set the fun tone with a word visualization game.

Toastmaster Simpson Lee hosted the prepared speech section, with speakers Evian Wong, Quinny Chan and Jade Cai presenting their respective inspiring, amusing and affectionate speeches.

Joyce Kwok evoked different scenarios which excited and challenged our brave table topics speakers William Ho, Kenny Kan, Selina Wang, SK Lau, Victor So, and Eric Wong.

Our evaluators Victor Yip, Charles Chan, Jessie Ng, Jennifer Wong, Cindy Chan gave constructive feedback, which are invaluable for further speech improvement.

🎉 Toastmaster Achievers Club — Meeting (11 May) 🎉

What a fantastic evening we had on 11 May at our Toastmaster Achievers Club meeting!

The meeting began with Kai as our Thought Master, sharing the latest discussion around the Red Button / Blue Button idea. It gave the whole room plenty of space to think, reflect, and engage deeply throughout the session. 💭🔴🔵

Huge thanks to Elaine for being such a wonderful Toastmaster on the night. She showed great talent, confidence, and preparation — and we’re especially excited to see her host the Zhuhai Conference this coming weekend! 👏✨

We also had a great icebreaker, as Chris McGaffin introduced himself to the members and helped everyone connect even more. Katherine, through her Breakthrough speech, began with a short acting scene and shared her powerful story about Alzheimer’s — a truly moving moment that reminded us of love and resilience. 💛
