Our Year 1s had a fantastic time trading the classroom for the great outdoors with Forest Adventures. From head to toe, the students were immersed in nature, mud, and hands-on learning.

The children enjoyed splashing in the mud and routing waterways, figuring out how water flows and shapes the earth around it. It was wonderful watching them huddle together during raft building, figuring out how to build something sturdy as a team. Through an exceptional day of outdoor learning, the students practised great communication, strength and coordination, and creative problem-solving. Well done, Year 1!

The ESF and CWBS Chinese Teams organised an art session for our students as part of the ESF Chinese Cultural Event. We invited Master Cui Zepei, a National First-Class Artist, to lead a masterclass.

Under Master Cui’s guidance, students explored drawing different types of birds and fruits in the traditional huaniao style. Beyond learning foundational brushwork and ink techniques, the children worked to capture the serene and harmonious essence that defines this art form.

Our students showed great engagement, gaining a deeper appreciation for Chinese heritage through painting.

We are celebrating an incredible year of connections in our Buddy Programme! Classes across different year groups were paired up, matching each student with their very own buddy, like our Year 1s teaming up with our Year 6s.

Every sweek, these buddy pairs have come together to work on special projects, learn together, and grow side-by-side. It has been wonderful to watch our younger students flourish with a caring older buddy to guide them through school life. At the same time, our older students have stepped up, showing them the ropes and leading with kindness and respect.

We are so proud of the warmth and mentorship these buddies have shared all year long as they head into these final two weeks together!

Our students recently completed an inspiring digital art project using shadows as a metaphor to represent their future aspirations. After photographing themselves, students used Apple Pencils and drawing tools in Keynote to sketch imaginative "shadows" of their future selves—like a focused scientist or a creative artist—onto the background. This engaging activity beautifully blended digital literacy with self-reflection, allowing students to visualize their big dreams for tomorrow!

Our students delivered three outstanding performances of this year’s school production, The Button Box. Performing for fellow students, staff, and parents, they took the audience on an musical journey around the world through song, dance, and acting. A big shoutout to the Upper School Choir for providing such excellent musical support.

We would like to extend a massive thank you to our guest director, Ms. Mandy Petty, and our very own Ms. Whiting for their exceptional leadership, guidance, and dedication throughout months of rehearsals.

Congratulations to the entire cast and crew! You showed us how much magic and adventure can come from a small box.

CWBS was delighted to once again host the Kowloon Kids Conference this year, bringing together Tech Leader representatives from CWBS, Shatin Junior School, RCHK, and Bradbury School. The event featured high-energy sessions including a fast-paced Demo Slam and an impressive Techxhibition. This unique gathering provided a vibrant platform for students to share their diverse passions for technology, ranging from creative coding to digital problem-solving on issues like traffic congestion, 3D design and printing, renewable energy, and F1 sustainability.

Young innovators collaborated and inspired one another to think outside the box. Beyond the gadgets, it was a great opportunity for networking and making new friends across schools. The variety of ideas on display proved just how much talent exists within our student tech community!

Market Day is a Year 5 highlight that celebrates student growth across two units of inquiry. Last week, our students confidently presented their products, adverts, and business plans to their parents and later sold their products to Year 3 students. We were impressed by their creativity and their confident application of knowledge. Well done on an outstanding achievement!

We are delighted to see our students enjoying the newly installed turf in the school playground. This vibrant, green addition has quickly become a favorite spot for the school community, with students enjoying everything from picnics to active play.

We look forward to seeing many more games, lunch-hour chats, and outdoor learning opportunities on our new playground turf.

Hello from Chengdu!

A group of Year 5 students, accompanied by Ms Jeynes, Ms Yuan, Ms Li, Ms Wu, Mr Gay, and Ms Teresa, are currently in Chengdu for a week of immersive learning and cultural connection.

A central part of the journey has been our visit to our sister school, Panda Road School. The group was warmly welcomed by an assembly featuring a variety of performances, after which CWBS and Panda Road School students enjoyed a friendly football match, providing a wonderful opportunity to build friendships. Our students are also joining classes to experience school life firsthand.

Beyond the classroom, the group is exploring the city’s significant landmarks and history, including the Sanxingdui Museum, Wuhou Temple, and People’s Park. Of course, no trip to Chengdu would be complete without a visit to the Panda Sanctuary to learn about the care and conservation of these endearing giant pandas.

We can’t wait to have everyone back on campus and are excited to hear the students share their new discoveries, personal highlights, and everything they have learned from this wonderful cultural adventure.

Things got seriously colourful this week in Year 3. The students have been experimenting with a range of artistic styles, discussing what makes each artist unique, and comparing calm, steady techniques with more energetic approaches.

A particular highlight was their Jackson Pollock–inspired artwork, where they explored action painting, enjoying splattering, dripping, and flicking paint to create a striking collaborative class piece.
