Neighbor Watch 2026 - S1 Gospel Camp

1A GU Hao Zhe
At the gospel camp, I learned about Jesus Christ and felt His love and guidance. In the Life Simulation activity, I experienced different life stages and realized how hard job-hunting is. This journey helped me grow and strengthened my faith.

1A LAI Chung Sing
My most memorable experience in this camp was the team-building games. At first, we struggled to communicate, but we eventually learned how to listen to each other. I felt a great sense of achievement when we finally completed the challenge together. During this camp, I learned how to step out of my comfort zone. Trying the outdoor activities was quite challenging for me because I am usually a quiet person. However, with the encouragement of my teachers and teammates, I managed to overcome my fears. I realized that I am stronger than I thought. I feel extremely grateful for the time spent in this camp. The best part was getting to know my classmates better outside the classroom.

1B LAM Fei Yu
The most memorable part of this Neighbor Watch Gospel Camp was the life simulation experience in the second afternoon, where I chose to pursue a career as a social worker. As a bachelor's degree is required for social work, I had to take an exam first, then earn tuition fees, and only after graduation could I apply for a social worker position. This experience taught me that thorough preparation and hard work are essential before choosing a career. Therefore, selecting a career that you like and that suits you is extremely important.

1C WANG Yan Ki
This camping trip has strengthened my friendships and deepened my faith in Jesus. The most memorable part was the Life Simulation activity that gives me a chance to experience different job roles, which will help me understand the hardships of work as I grow older.

1C CHOI Cheuk Yin
What impressed me most during the camp was Mr. David Wong’s sharing about his experience of coming to faith and his sincere prayers. His words deeply moved me and made me truly feel God's presence. This camp gave me a deeper understanding of God, and I hope to attend again next time.

1D PIN Wan Huen
After this camp, I have learned a lot of things. My favorite experience was the life planning game. In this game, I held various jobs such as a KOL and a clerk. We needed to work to earn money, which we could then use to buy food or other items. We also encountered 'accidents' where we needed money, such as becoming sick. I learned how to work and save money for emergencies. I have also made more friends after this camp. I hope we will have another camp soon!

Neighbor Watch - Mongolia Service (Exchange)

4B RICAMARA ANGELICA DIAMANTE
My most unforgettable memory from the trip to Mongolia happened on the very last day. We were doing volunteer work, and my task was to help distribute food to local people living in deep poverty. Many of them made a living by burning trash. On the way to the distribution site, we passed a massive graveyard. Rows upon rows of graves stretched out in every direction, and some crows circled above. The sight was overwhelming. In that moment, I truly realized how many people around the world are struggling—often unnoticed—and it made me deeply grateful for the things I so often take for granted in my own life. Through cultural exchanges and teaching activities, I learned to respect cultures very different from my own and discovered beautiful traditions I had never known before. Teaching at a local school was especially challenging for me. As someone who usually does things at the last minute, I struggled to plan and deliver lessons on such short notice. But we succeeded, and this experience pushed me to become more flexible and improve my time management. The only regret is that we didn’t get to interact with the students more. Still, the short time we had together left a lasting impression, and I’ll carry the lessons from this trip with me for a long time.

Neighbor Watch - Mongolia Service (Landfill & the Desert Rose)

4A Chiu Shing Hei Alvin
The most unforgettable moment of this trip was providing lunch at the landfill. It was a humbling encounter that redefined my understanding of need. We provided 100 lunch boxes at the landfill for the workers and their families. The NGO (Flourishing Future) social worker prepared the food in advance, which helped everything run smoothly. Within our group, we had different roles: some members assembled the utensils, others scooped rice and minced meat, and one student packed one hundred lunch boxes. We also distributed a water bottle with each meal, ensuring every person had what they needed. Through this experience, I learned a vital lesson in gratitude: to focus on what I still possess rather than what is lost. My team and I practiced Christ’s love by delivering genuine care to the community and the girls at “Desert Rose,” the girls’ shelter. Professionally, the teaching sessions at a local high school challenged me. With limited time, we had to adapt our plans quickly. This experience taught me the value of flexibility and of staying prepared for the unexpected—true growth in action.

4A Lam Yin Tung Liz
I am very glad to be able to join this service trip to Mongolia, and I have gained a lot during this service trip. The most unforgettable experience in Mongolia is visiting Desert Rose, a girls' shelter. The girls there are very lovely and cute. They are very cheerful when they are singing and dancing. I feel the difference in culture. Also on the last day, we made and packed lunch for the landfill workers. It is quite a special experience that I won’t ever do. After we finished packing the lunch, we went to the biggest landfill in that area. Upon entering the landfill, as far as the eye could see, there were small mountains of garbage. The air was thick with the smell of mud, trash, and smoke. The dust was so thick that sometimes it was impossible to open one's eyes. Most of the workers were middle-aged, in their forties or fifties, and some were even elderly. Their hands were all black and wrinkled. Seeing their smiles after receiving their lunchboxes filled me with mixed emotions—happiness and sorrow. At that moment, I felt truly grateful for the life I have now.

Neighbor Watch - Mongolia Service (Ger)

4A08 Lee Sai Shun
My unforgettable memory in Mongolia was living in a Mongolian ger. I never thought about living in a ger before this trip. The night sky was glorious—full of stars. When you lie on the bed and look at the ceiling, you can see a million stars right in front of you. I still can’t believe it happened to me. It was an amazing experience. Through cultural exchange, I learned to be grateful that I was born in Hong Kong—a place where I can grow up happily, with a pleasant climate and plenty of entertainment. It also has a friendly environment where I can study with my friends. Everything around me reminds me to be thankful: a single meal, sunny weather, and a good sleep—these are all things we should appreciate. We pray before every service. God’s love is unconditional, sacrificial, and eternal. I always do my best during the service. From teaching local students about Hong Kong culture to carrying garbage on the hill, the process is difficult. The students may not understand us, and the wind keeps blowing, so it’s hard to keep our eyes open. But we keep trying our best to show the love and actions of Christ on this beautiful land. I also learned how to weave hand rope, picked up a few Mongolian phrases, and developed a heart of service—always putting others before myself. Don’t be selfish; share your love with others. I grew into someone who knows how to respond to others' needs.

3C Jethro Chan
Looking back on the past six months—from preparing for the preliminary selection in September, to the semi-finals in November, and the final performance in March—we performed at the Sha Tin Town Hall, which has over a thousand seats. It was truly an unforgettable experience. Before the competition, everyone was full of confidence during our final practice in the dressing room. However, when the staff brought us backstage, we all started to feel nervous. As the lights shone onto the stage, we performed in perfect harmony. I would like to thank my teammates, Miss Chan and Mr. Lau, for their support and teaching. For me, GalaMusica meant far more than just competing for an award. This music competition taught me that music is not just about hitting the right notes, but about the deep connection shared with others. Overcoming our collective stage fright transformed us into a better team.

1D Sofia Pin
It was my first time performing outside of school, and it was the most memorable experience for me in the string ensemble. I truly learnt a lot from it. At the beginning, I had some expectations about our first performance outside, and I also felt nervous. Fortunately, our previous performance at school gave me some experience. During the performance, a sudden gust of wind blew through the venue. It blew our hair and even flipped our sheet music. However, we stayed calm and composed and continued to do our best to complete the performance. Thankfully, we were still able to finish the entire show smoothly in the end. Though the performance was not considered perfect, the experience I gained from it can be applied to my next performance, making future shows better and better.

2D Angus Ip
Throughout the three days of Neighbor Watch, I learned so much about the struggles the elderly face! We did some planning and prepped for the 3rd day, when we would welcome the elderly to our school. Every single student in my class worked very hard to prepare a fun day for them! After all the hard work, the elderly arrived at our school. We warmly welcomed them, played games, and made bonsai with them. Seeing the elderly having so much fun making bonsai and playing games with us truly moved me! This Neighbor Watch was truly unforgettable as it showed me just how wonderful it is to make the elderly happy!

2D Lawrence Tong
All of the elderly thoroughly enjoyed our singing and dancing performance. Finally, we began our school tour. We chose the library as our first stop. Bernard did a great job introducing the functions and daily use by students. Afterward, we traveled to an art and culture museum where art and culture meet. The elderly had an unforgettable time with us there! After all the activities in this year's Neighbor Watch, we truly understood how the elderly carry out their “daily missions”. We learned to build strong relationships and strengthen teamwork with classmates as we organized the activities we prepared.

4A Ng Chun Yin, Anson
Day 2 was probably my favorite part. We spent the morning learning how to fly drones in the school auditorium. In the afternoon, a group of elderly ladies joined us, and we had to teach them how to fly them. Chatting with them was easy, but trying to explain which part was the head or tail, or what the signal lights meant, definitely took a lot of patience! We didn't win the drone competition, but just getting them to fly the drones felt like a win in itself. The last day started a bit messily because of some schedule changes, and honestly, we were all pretty exhausted. We had to rehearse some games we prepared, and our group leader was definitely feeling nervous. But James and I were really proud to see how much he had stepped up over the past few days. Later, the ladies from the day before returned, bringing these amazing African drums. The vibe was great, the games went smoothly, and it was really nice to see everyone having such a good time. Huge thanks to everyone who made this happen—it was a really meaningful few days, and I learned a lot!
