😊 Nanny Poppins Children Playschool, Lo Wai, Pui O 😊

It’s almost the holidays – we close on Wednesday and what a great start we have had to the 2025 2026 year!

It has been very busy, exciting and filled with fun and funny 😊 The children have great humour, love to be silly and play games, laugh and create from their imaginations, and learn in different ways, and it is all wonderful to be a part of.

Socially, it is a beautiful thing to watch relationships being weaved, strengthened and solidified. We had a little one join us just 2 weeks ago, and already there is a noticeable pull towards another child -early days yet, but it is the start of a friendship developing 😊

I also want to give a great big shoutout to all the helpers, aunties, titas and yayas in Hong Kong, and especially the ones that I know. You are amazing, strong, patient and take such great care - of little humans, and in other capacities too.

I have been fortunate to have experienced seeing this first hand, and I don’t know what Lantau Island and Hong Kong in general would be like without these amazing women and men who come to Hong Kong to create better lives for their families back home. Your gift of giving and support has not gone unnoticed. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

😊 Nanny Poppins Children Playschool, Lo Wai, Pui O 😊

We have had a busy few weeks, and, as always, it has been delightful!

We had another little one start just last week, and in 4 days, he has already settled! Being in a group helps the children understand the routine quickly, and they learn from each other, whilst also being given many hugs and reassurances that their parent/Aunty/beloved person will be coming back to fetch them later.

We encourage empathy, kindness, independence, using words to express what it is that the child wants (and if no words are available to the child, to express in a meaningful yet harmless way), patience by learning to wait and take turns (and it works really well), and that it is okay to get upset/sad/angry about something and to show it, but not to hurt anyone in the process, amongst other things.

We offer opportunities for motor (gross and fine), cognitive, language, emotional, social and moral development, and the children utilize the opportunities fully - they are amazing! For older children, we offer an extended day until 13:00, to focus on phonics, writing skills, etc.

It is wonderful to observe, to guide, to laugh, to have fun, whilst watching the learning unfold in an engaging and nurturing environment with both indoor and outdoor space.

A truly wonderful vocation, and one which I am forever grateful for.

All others who have supported through holiday clubs and short-term care, some of whom are:
Trix, Michelle and Miguel, Lulu, Sophia, Patrizia and Nic, Elsa, Manon, Julia and Ash - you have all helped to build Nanny Poppins Children, and I thank you 😊

Suman Agrawal is a certified yoga instructor trained in India, and will be offering classes at Nanny Poppins Children.
When? Saturdays
Time and duration? 14:30 for 1 hour
Ages? 3 - 10 years old
Price? HKD 220 per class, or HKD 200 per class for a package of 5 classes
Maximum of 10 children per class
