This is what kept me up end 2025… and inspired me into 2026 🌟 I needed to read this book. A reminder that a different type of power - and leadership - not only exists, but is essential for true collective success. One grounded in , and .
Thank you for role modelling what empathetic truly looks like, at a time when the world—and our organisations—need more of these *critical smart (human) skills*.
“I want this government to feel different,” I said. “I want people to feel that it’s open, that it’s listening, and that it’s going to bring kindness back.” […] “Some people thought kindness was sentimental, soft. A bit naive even. I knew this. But I also knew they were wrong. Kindness has a power and strength that almost nothing else on this planet has. I’d seen kindness do extraordinary things; I’d seen it give people hope. I’d seen it change minds and transform lives. I wasn’t afraid to say it aloud, and as soon as I did, I was sure: kindness. This would be my guiding principle no matter what lay ahead.”
To an inspiring, kind, empathetic - and fun! - 2026 🌟

I learnt about the hard way. 10 years ago, while eagerly growing my career, raising 2 small kids, juggling (struggling…) between work and family commitments. I went through a major which resulted in a full year of work incapacity filled with exhaustion, anxiety and medication. Difficult times (years) ahead, slowly recovering - you take 1 step forward only to fall back 2 steps the next day.
This picture was taken 10 years ago, a few weeks before my full collapse. No one would have guessed the distress I was going through. I spent most of the *little* energy I had left on ‘pretending’ I was fine. It’s all invisible. Don’t judge a book by its cover ;-)
During the prior 6 months, my body had urgently attempted to warn me I was on the wrong path: “The body whispers before it screams”. But I wasn’t listening. I continued running frantically in my hamster wheel, disconnected from myself, from my needs, from my values, from everything I believed in.
This is how my own - personal and professional - journey to & began! 💪
Today for *World Mental Health Day* let’s remember to check-in with ourselves and all the people around us. Not just today, but everyday. It’s OK to not be OK (we’re human after all…). Seek support, practice self-care and take your own wellbeing into your hands. And don’t assume. Better to ask 💚

Back in Hong-Kong, my son (10 y/o at the time) received this letter from his teachers before a large assessment day. All kids in class received it. Needless to say, I was stunned… I often think back to this incredibly (em)powerful message, wishing more schools would encourage children in this way (note: the school’s mission statement was “Unlocking the best”…. clearly living their value )
Linking back to our adult world, it’s also a nice reminder that we are so much more than our careers, jobs, job titles or a bad day at work. We are the sum of everything that makes us uniquely, us.
*Who do you want to remind just how they are today?*
