Shot with an almost documentary-like detachment and free of moral judgment, CHRISTIANE F. depicts a West Berlin teenager's descent into he**in addiction and prostitution. Following its 1981 release, the film and its original autobiography were chosen as compulsory school material in West Germany, becoming a shared memory for German youth of the 80s and 90s.

不少亞洲人都深信名字能影響人的命運，廣東話就有句俗語：「唔怕生壞命，最怕改壞名」。在德國，有個機構GESELLSCHAFT FÜR DEUTSCHE SPRACHE就自1977年開始就將全國新生嬰兒的名字記錄下來。多年來的變化跟時辰八字關係不大，反而就反映著時代與社會的變化，以至宗教方面的影響。

今日就一齊睇下1977年及2025年在德國最常被起用、最受德國父母喜愛的名字吧!

In many Asian countries names are deeply believed to be able to shape one’s destiny. That’s why in Cantonese we have the saying “唔怕生壞命，最怕改壞名“ (it’s better to be born without a penny than to be named wrong).

In Germany, the organization GESELLSCHAFT FÜR DEUTSCHE SPRACHE has been tracking the most frequently chosen names for newborn babies since 1977. The choices have nothing much to do with superstition, rather they reflect social development and changes of mentality.

【Meet our local curator for Unruly Mirrors Open Call! 來認識Unruly Mirrors 公開徵集的香港策展人！】

Goethe-Institut Hongkong is glad to have Alberta Leung, an independent curator and researcher to be Unruly Mirrors' Hong Kong curator! She will be one of the selection panel of the Open Call, as well as curate the touring exhibition in Hong Kong. Let's learn more about her first!

香港歌德學院很高興可以與獨立策展人及研究員梁以勤 (Alberta Leung)合作，擔任Unruly Mirrors的香港策展人！她將會擔任公開徵集其中一位評審，並負責巡迴展覽香港站的策展。現在先讓我們來認識一下她的背景！
梁以勤通過揉合藝術、科學與科技，將被忽略的文化現象和觀點帶入公眾視野。她關注數位文化與人際連結的關係與複雜性，透過微敘事與強調故事性的方式，將被遺忘的經驗置於具體脈絡中，並反思當代數位社會的細微變化。
2022年，她創立了線上藝術平台 Size Variab;e，專注於探索替代性的展覽模式，並以數位遊牧的精神促進合作與實驗。2025年，她共同創立SALOON Hong Kong ，並擔任董事會成員；該組織屬於全球 SALOON Network 的一部分，致力於支持女性及非二元性別的藝術從業人員。

hin und her — Duo exhibition by HSU Wai Lun and SO Lai Ping

我們追隨時尚步步向前
又好似步步走回過去
——也斯〈花布街〉

德文的「hin und her」 形容著一種來回搖擺、無法得出結論的思緒。中文「來來回回」描述了一種無法安定、無法結束、無法停止的狀態。兩個語言描述一種相同的時間處境。時間不再前進，只是不停地往返，猶如沒有計時的鐘擺。

我們活在一個失去了時間感的時間裡。這個展覽在香港的時間裡往返、徘徊，探索時間的慢滅。沒有起點，也沒有終點。在過去、現在與未來，來來回回，持續的擺盪。

維港上的煙花、廣場上的飛龍、晚宴上的合照、馬場上的比賽⋯⋯

我們在香港的不同的時間線上來回：在舊與新、遺留的思想與檔案影像之間，重新審視關於香港的時間狀態。

We follow fashions, deliberately, in and in,
it seems going back and back into the past as well.

In German, “hin und her” is the motion of thought that cannot be concluded. In Chinese, “來來回回” describes something that cannot settle, cannot stop. Two languages arrive at the same place. Time no longer moves forward, it only swings, like a pendulum without a clock face.

We live in a time that has lost its sense of time. This exhibition moves back and forth through the time of Hong Kong, tracing the slow cancellation of time. No beginning, no end. The past, present, and future: coming and going, hin und her.

Fireworks over Victoria Harbour, dragons in the square, group portraits at the gala, races at the racecourse⋯⋯

We swing back and forth across Hong Kong’s different timelines: between the old and the new, traces of thought, and archival images, revisiting the condition of time in this city.

German Film Forum: The Legend of Paul and Paula

🚫 一段差點不被允許存在的愛情故事
這部 DEFA 的經典之作，以溫柔而倔強的姿態，歌頌愛情與自由，上映當年幾乎被列為禁片，卻成為一代東德人的精神符號。

今次放映別具意義：飾演女主角寶拉的 Angelica Domröse 於今年5月15日在柏林辭世，享年85歲。她把一個勇於以愛對抗社會的女性演釋得入木三分，深深烙印在幾代觀眾的記憶之中。如今重看，既是致敬，也是道別。

🚫 A love story that nearly wasn't allowed to exist.
Nearly too subversive for its time, this DEFA classic became a defiant anthem for individual freedom. After decades, its warmth and emotional honesty still hit hard.

This screening carries special weight: Angelica Domröse, who played Paula and made the role her own, passed away on 15 May 2026 at the age of 85. Her portrayal of a young woman who dared to challenge social norms and ideological conformity through love shaped the emotional landscape of an entire generation. Watching the film now is both a celebration and a farewell.

今日我地就用一條TIMELINE話比大家知, 歌德學院點樣由一個意念發展成一個全球性既文化機構。今日先睇1951至1965呢段時間。
