Every year on 1st June, a public holiday is celebrated in Indonesia to mark the day on which the Pancasila was created.
The Pancasila, created by Indonesia’s first president, Soekarno, is made up of five principles that describe the ideology of Indonesia as a nation before it gained Independence. Eid Al Adha, also known as Idul Adha in Indonesia, is an Islamic holiday that symbolizes faith, sacrifice, and charity.
To celebrate this holiday, Muslims in Indonesia gather in the mosque to pray and offer each other Eid greetings. Most Muslim families would then sacrifice a cow or sheep and divide its meat into three parts: one portion to give out to the poor, one to take home for the family, and one to share with friends and other relatives.
Happy Idul Adha! We hope this holiday brings you and your family peace, faith, and joy!
