The second cutest sheep breed in Ireland π- the Galway! We went to the fabulous Meitheal today, and it was great fun! Wore our super special Cladoir sheep wool hat knit for the Connemara Park Heritage Day, & a shawl knit from some other as well (including the Galway & Belclare.)Hooray for Irish wool from - its more versatile than some people may think πππ

Look at this gorgeous, soft, Cladoir fleece! Freshly sheared on the Heritage Day at Connemara National Park, then plied into yarn. Some yarn was also then naturally dyed with plants, and both the natural & dyed yarns were being knit into a hat- all on the day! More photos of this to come!

The yarn spun from the freshly spun Cladoir fleeces on the Heritage Day at Connemara National Park - PΓ‘irc NΓ‘isiΓΊnta Chonamara The dark yarn is Zwartbles plied with Cladoir. The yellows were naturally dyed on the spun Cladoir yarns, with meadowsweet and marigolds.
