A design thinker and creative facilitator, her work explores how play, imagination, and curiosity can transform teaching and learning. Drawing on her background in occupational therapy, alongside expertise in LEGO® Serious Play and studies in design thinking, creativity, and innovation, she brings fresh and practical approaches to the classroom.
Outside of work, Sinead nurtures her creativity by swimming in the wild Atlantic Ocean and co-hosts , a UCC-based radio show dedicated to amplifying female voices (the show immediately on before Shush)

On this episode of Shush! Sounds from UCC Library, I’m joined by Dr. Małgorzata Krasnodębska-D’Aughton, Senior Lecturer in History at University College Cork.
Her research explores the cultural and religious worlds of the later Middle Ages, with a focus on identity, memory, sacred spaces, and models of sanctity. An award-winning teacher and widely published scholar, she also brings medieval history beyond academia through collaborations with museums, schools, radio, and theatre.
We talk about her research, libraries more broadly, and her music selection, which has a distinctly Polish flavour.

With over 20 years’ experience across disability, education, and community services—including roles with Enable Ireland and the SOAR PATH Enabling Transitions Project—Deirdre is passionate about widening access to higher education. A UCC Geology graduate and the university’s DARE representative, she supports students through the use of assistive technology.
